Last week we went for a short trip to Texel. Even though Texel is not too big we decided to spend the night in the middle of the island. Greenside hotel is conveniently located at the outskirts of De Koog. The room was spatious (double delux room with balcony), clean but a bit old fashioned. The bed mattress was extremely soft with cushions that gave my wife a stiff neck, that was remedies by changing to a regular cushion that was provided (was available in the room).
The lake view from the room was very nice.
Breakfast was excellent, choice of food was very nice even for a vegan and the quality of the coffee was very good (unlike some other reviewers here that did not like the coffee).
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Parking is on site and free.
All in all, a nice experience for a one night stay.

If you are going to stay on Texel, this is for sure a nice, friendly, comfortable place to stay, with a pretty good location.
At first it was a bit under my expectations but by the next morning, when after a pretty good breakfast we came back to our clean room, I felt it was actually a pretty nice hotel. The staff is very friendly, the rooms and bathroom clean (toliet seat had been cleaned with something that ate away at the finish just a small small bit so the slight haze was always visible even after I cleaned it so its OK). The breakfasts are typical European continental, and good enough. We would say the eggs and juices where a bit bland, but the coffee was great and the rest was normal fair and enough to fill you up. the restaurant setting is very nice, with a view out over a local pond. It was also nice that breakfast was served until 10:30.
The room (we had the junior suite, which is level 2 out of 4) is perfect for a relaxing vacation when you might want to relax in your room in the evenings (also, on Texel there is not much to do like movies, large museums, malls) or when its raining. Half the large room is dedicated to a couch, a lounge chair, and a small table with two padded (but with squeaky material) chairs. Our room was on the ground floor, with a patio, which is blocked off from public asssess by high, trimmed bushes. We where on the west side, in a wing, overlooking some green and the entry road but its not ugly. On the other side you would look out over a big old ugly race carting building, so try to ask for north view room in the wing building, or probably any room in the main building which is situated a bit different.
We had several minus points which keeps us from giving it 5 stars:
one was that the beds where soft (that is OK) but the pillows where way to thick and we both got pain our necks. There are some some bit less thick pillows in the closet, but I had to use one of the smaller decorative cushions myself.
The other, to us, more annoying short coming was a shortage of plugs in easy to use locations and none next to the bed, and worse, they where also attached to the automatic lights-out room card key system, such that they lost power when ever you left the room. Thus you could never do quick charges during breakfast, or any time you left the room meaning you had to plan your use of your computer in the lounge carefully such that you knew next time you wanted to use it off the grid that it was charged while you where in the room (the lounge also has very few, un-handly located plugs.)
Their lounge/bar is comfortable, and they play smooth jazz. The service is variable however, as sometime someone comes to serve in a minute or two, and other times it take 45 minutes, even when someone is behind the bar, and you are the only person sitting in the lounge. A bit mysterious. But when I commented, I did get my beer for free. That makes up for a lot.
Also, they have (separate??) rooms for people with pets, and we did find ourselves in that hallway - with the occational bark, but also the people would come out of their room with their big (wonder why everyone has big dogs these days..) coming first which can be a bit of a suprise when that happens right in front of you. We also wondered if there had been animals in our room earlier, although we did not see any evidence of that.

Room Tip: Any room in the main building probably, or North side on the wing building. Ground floor has rooms for people with pets

We booked two of the Luxe Kamers and were very pleased. They were huge and very comfortable. We had a small balcony which was also very nice. Everything clean and nice.
We also booked the Taste of Texel through the hotel and were very disappointed in this. The meal was nothing I can't get almost any where else in the Netherlands. No Texel lamb or anything.
We also rented bikes and this worked out very well and we had so much fun, even in the rain and wind.
Breakfast was good, the coffee is some of the worst I have had but otherwise not bad at all.
