“Excellent and highly recommended”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a very warm welcome with homemade cake and there was coffee and tea for us. In the fridge we found milk and white wine. Perfect!
We are a family of 4 person and the appartement was perfect for us. The kids enjoyed the TV and the free wlan and of course the large, heated pool. They could use it very flexible.
Great place to stay. Thanks a lot to carole and her daughter gaynor.
See you..

“Lovely Cottage, Lovely Hosts”
Reviewed 14 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The Barley Cottage was well appointed and very comfortable. Our hosts were exceptional providing for our every need. It is located in the hamlet of West Marden and we used it as our base to see the surrounding area. The country setting is lovely and it is a working farm.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 22 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage with every thought given as to furnishing and equipment, including a well equipped kitchen, Freeview TV, DVD, CD & radio, plus a Payphone to compensate for the lack of mobile phone reception.
Very comfortable beds and everything is always very clean and tidy, we have stayed here every year since 1998 and can thus vouch for the consistently high standards.
The location is excellent, set in lovely countryside with plenty of scope for walks, a pub close by and a village shop in the next village & within walking distance.
The area offers a very good range of things to do and places to visit, including the City of Chichester and Bosham with its tidal roads where King Canute is reputed to have tried to hold back the tide.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming and there are flowers set out when one arrives, plus milk in the fridge etc.
All in all the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

“A warm welcome to a home from home sumptuous retreat”
Reviewed 27 September 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We received a very warm welcome to this delightful cottage nestling in the entrance to the farm. The cottage is well furnished, spacious and just oozes a feeling of relaxation. A guaranteed stress-buster. The owners go out of their way to make your stay as memorable as can be. The visitors book is full of repeat customers and we shall certainly be joining them!

“A comfortable home from home”
Reviewed 20 March 2012 for a stay in January 2012

Barley Cottage is extremely comfortable and well appointed. Very warm, even in mid frost period. Wonderfully comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of living space - and lots of books to read. Freeview television plus wi-fi from the farmhouse, so good communications. And spotlessly clean. Only one drawback (not the fault of the owners): no mobile reception. But they have thoughtfully installed a payphone.

The cottage is well situated in the farmhouse grounds, with the village pub next door. Lovely gentle scenery and excellent walking - and only twenty minutes from lots of beaches. Swimming pool too, though not inviting in January. Owners keen to ensure comfort, friendly and welcoming.

I could not recommend Barley Cottage more highly.
