There are two Torrox's; one the 'Area of Culture' north of the A7, and 4km south is the resort town. Both have their charms, though the fragmented walking path between them has a neglected air. Perched above a motorway tunnel and close to a police station the Casa Colina Del Sol might not seem an ideal base. But it is closer to the old town, which has some great eating places, and is a grittily charming real life Andalusian village. It gives access to the hinterland where ever more rural places and higher ground can be explored. It's a 35 minute walk from the BnB to the sea, uphill on the way back, good for losing calories after lunch!

The breakfast was a buffet with home grown tropical fruits. The owners are genuinely warm and helpful people. I would recommend unreservedly.

We arrived pretty late to Casa Colina del Sol after a mini detour thanks to Satnav not understanding the A7 wasn't connected to the road Casa Colina del Sol is on! So when we arrived and the host was able to provide us with a bottle of wine, some crisps and grapes, it was very welcome. They set up a table for us on their terrace and we enjoyed a relaxing evening. They've a lovely old Saint Bernard and little English, but it didn't hinder us from having a comfortable stay. Very decent rate for a friendly stay.

We were very well looked after by Jose and Nieves. It was a very homely atmosphere and great pool.

Close to motorway and when i missed off ramp late at night Jose came to meet us.

Lovely fresh breakfast too!

Great menu del dia at BP cafe on off ramp too!
