We arrived at the visitor centre having seen all the dams and reservoirs. It was a welcome place for a toilet break, a bit of retail therapy and some decent nosh!

The cakes were exceptionally good and a great accompaniment to an afternoon cuppa! Whilst there we noted the food menu and decided to enjoy a lunch later in our stay. We did that and enjoyed the Panini and Jacket Potato with lovely fillings. Especially as the restaurant overlooks the lovely river.

Coming out of the centre you can turn right over an iron bridge and see Elan Village with some stunning river views and sights if a variety of birds - and friendly sheep!

Visited for breakfast & lunch.
Lovely location by side of the river Elan.
You can walk up to Caban Coch dam from here too & would recommend.
Play area to keep children occupied.
Dogs welcome around grounds but not allowed in visitor centre building.

Went here for day visit, plenty of parking at £2 each car. The cafe / restaurant was ok but if you sit outside, there were wasps about. The toilets were out of service on the day of our visit, which is not good at this type of establishment. It has a children's play area which was popular. Various building works was underway and areas fenced off. Some steep slopes and steps to negotiate once you go past the cafe etc., so not very suitable if you have mobility issues.

Nice refuge from the rain and the cakes were excellent. The service was a bit slow/ disorganised and the counter cluttered. The views should do the work here but a bit more effort could be made on the interior.
