We were at this lovely hotel for 4 nights and it was just wonderful!
First of all the hotel is picture postcard beautiful. It's surrounded by trees and meadows dotted with cows that are wearing the cowbells around their necks ....
The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic view from our balcony towards the mountains.
The food at the hotel was excellent - we never had a bad meal. We opted for half board with the evening meal that consisted of 5 courses and was only 12 euros per person! .... Absolute steal!
Lastly, the staff were lovely. All very friendly and helpful.
I can't recommend the Rosslhof highly enough and if I'm ever in the position to visit this stunning area again - I know where I'll be staying!

If you want to relax and just enjoy the pure nature, this area is perfect.

The rooms are very comfy and beautiful, when you open the window to your balcony you can hear the birds sing with a beautiful view to the Dachstein (impressive mountain range)

I love having breakfast and at the Hotel Rösslhof it was fresh an really good - they also had homemade butter and jam!

There are nice hiking paths which connects the hotel with other farms and the city town is just 15 minutes (walk-distance) away!

Stayed: June 2015, travelled with family

This is one of dozens of inns/hotels/guest houses in this wonderful plateau/valley. I don't know about the others, but this one was great. We had a large south facing room with a balcony and a view, and all the amenities. The owners were extremely nice and hospitable. They couldn't have been better or nicer or more helpful. We were on half pension, which included a very good european breakfast and a many course dinner...salad, an appetizer, three choices of main course and desert. The food was what I would call "light Austrian." Of the three choices for the main course, one was "vegetarian" and the other two were meat or fish...in our experience over 4 nights, that included one night with fish and one night with chicken. The rest were meat, but if you wanted something different I am sure that with a little advance notice they would accommodate you. This is that kind of place. Vegetarian, in this part of Austria, means cheese and stuff like that, not vegetables.

Room Tip: Take a South facing room. They cost a few euro more but are worth it.

Rosslhof in the Summer (September 2012). My husband and I visited Ramsau for the second time and stayed for a week. We wanted to experience Austria in the summer to enjoy the beautiful countryside, nice weather and the hospitality of the Austrians. During our stay we were given a Summer Card as the Rosslhof is in this scheme, this card gives you great savings and we used it many times. We were able to use the cable car for free to visit the Dachstein where there is a huge glacier to view and explore. You get to experience standing on a glass platform and view the valley along with a visit to the restaurant that serves excellent food. (Do try the apple strudel - delicious). We also travelled for free on the Gondola in Schladming to see the Planai Mountains - not to be missed! My husband and I are both keen walkers and Ramsau has plenty of wonderful walks to explore. The walks cater for all ages and abilities and anyone visiting this pretty village will not be disappointed.
The Hotel itself is run by Thomas and Anna and during our stay they made us feel most welcome. An exceptionally clean hotel, with modern bathroom facilities, offering a large bedroom; including a good sized balcony to soak up the glorious sunshine and surroundings. The food in the Hotel is excellent (brilliant chef) we enjoyed 5 courses each evening which we thoroughly enjoyed after a day of walking. Another bonus is that you can use the Hotel next doors swimming pool which is well maintained and modern. (Again this is free).

If you are looking for a good local pub I can highly recommend The Tenne Bar owned by Manfred and his team of workers - Herbie and Yolanda. The best bar in Ramsau, really friendly Austrians. A quaint original beamed wooden building offering excellent food and drink with good company. We visited each day and they were all so friendly. 15 minute walk from the Hotel along the footpath.

February 2013 Rosslhof in the Winter. We have just returned from a 5 day break at the Rosslhof and seeing Ramsau in the snow was so pretty, the Hotel looked as good in the snow as it did in the Summer. Once again we enjoyed super food and this time opted for an apartment which was very large with a separate living room. (However, I would say that the mattress was not as comfortable as the double room accommodation that we had in the Summer). Apart from this we had a lovely break. Another exciting outing to do in the winter I would highly recommend is a sleigh ride pulled by 2 horses across the countryside. Thomas the Hotel owner arranged this for us and we loved it. We were out for 2 1/2 hours and at 15 euros each it was worth every penny.

Whatever time of the year if you stay at the Rosslhof you will be very well cared for. An exceptional Hotel that deserves the 4 star rating.

Lastly my only recommendations for the Hotel would be that the menu could be printed in English as well as German which would cater for all tourists. As each day we had to ask what was on the menu which was rather tedious. (Sometimes the waitress did not speak English and it was difficult). Lastly if you like black tea then take your own as the Darjing tea on offer is very weak and tasteless. (Plenty of other teas but not black tea).

Room Tip: All rooms have excellent views. Rooms at the front of the hotel would have a more sunny aspect.
