Everything was well-thought out and the staff was always one step ahead - from the onset with information via email prior to check in, at check in and just everything from booking onwards. The easiest, most convenient and pleasant stays ever.

Wonderful hotel located about 40 meters from the entrance to the free underground subway which you have to take up to the ski slope. For those interested, there is a place to store your skis and boots at the gondola station so you do t need to struggle with them back and forth each day - storage cost was €14 per day for family of four. Keep in mind, to get from the hotel up to the ski school (with 2 kids under 10 in tow), you’ll be looking at a 45 minute trip.

Almost all inclusive with one rather glaring shortcoming (at least for us) which was the fact there are no coffee/latte machines in the restaurant. Unfortunately, you have to ask for coffee which means you don’t always get that second cup in the morning rush to get to the ski hill/ski school since the wait staff are so busy. Coffee is free in morning, but with afternoon coffee you have to pay a pretty expensive €4.50 for a small cappuccino - tough to swallow when you’ve already forked out €4,500+ for the hotel and food for the week - add to that the fact that ski school is not included like it is at many other Kinder hotels in Austria - hmm.

The swimming pools, water playground and seater slide are fantastic and keep kids 10 and under happy for the entire week.

Food was absolutely top notch which is why I’ve included some snap shots in my review - I’m not usually a food photo guy. The other shot is from our room balcony looking up towards the ski resort in the distance - we were room #152 which was actually a great location - though the smallest room category, it was adequate for a family of 4.

One last thing (and it may be obvious) is you have to be ready for ALOT of kids - and many of the parents think the concept of kids hotel means they can leave proper parenting at home and let their kids run wild - would be nice if the hotel would step in here and politely enforce some of the rules they have posted on brochures, menus etc.

So, would I go back? Based on the hotel and food quality - absolutely yes. But the long trip up to the ski hill (including a subway ride - which by the way is infinitely better than a ski shuttle bus) leaves us on the fence...which is why I chose 4 stars instead of 5 in the end. Wish you could give 1/2 stars in this app - because this place deserves 4.5 stars.

Dear ATravelStory

Thank you very much for your warm and detailed rating. We are very glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your holidays with us and that our team has also contributed to a great stay.

Unlike most ski areas in Austria and Switzerland, Serfaus does have the smallest subway (100 meters away from the hotel) in the world. Most hotels require you to take a bus or even walk several kilometers to the gondola station. This means long waiting lines and Serfaus is known for its convenience "walk" to the gondolas.

Overall, we hope you enjoyed your stay and we all are looking forward to welcoming you again in our hotel and wish you all the best until then.

Your family Heymich
with the Löwe-Team!

Given we traveled through high season, the prices were also steep. Location of Hotel is superb, especially if you travel with young children. U-Bahn is located a few steps from the hotel as well as the Murmeli Park, where young ones can learn to ski (behind the church, 150 meters away, be aware you have to walk uphills).

Food for adults was nice and offered a great variation. We would have preferred to get more variations for the kids, although I believe, it is difficult for a Hotel to offer such given the preferences are different, but a Vegetable Risotto or anything else were Vegis were hidden would have been preferred. A week of Pasta, Fries, Sausages, etc. was not really healthy and as you know, toddlers are difficult to trick if they see the carrot and the broccoli upfront.

Although the Restaurant area was accessible most of the time (with a few breaks for cleaning) it would have been preferred to have access to a coffee machine or water all day AND night.

Alcohol is expensive, but given you are in a children hotel you might keep it to a limit anyway. Also, should you order a water in the bar, you will need to pay whereas in the restaurant, where you can get it yourself, it is free.

The hotel itself is more for children between 0 to 7 and given most of the kids are on the slopes anyway, entertainment is limited. That said, we would appreciate if the pool would be open also in the morning and SPA treatments could be booked after 7 PM too. Given weather is unpredictable and kinds normally go to bed early, it would have been great to enjoy those amenities either in the morning or evening after dinner.

On a sidenote - although the skischool considers themselves as well trained teachers with a lot of child experience, their teachers were very young (most between 15 and 25) and hence, although they might attended some training, not very experienced in motivating young kids. Don't expect to leave your toddlers there and enjoy the variety of all slopes, you will need to check on them on a regular basis and hence you can't go too far. Also, 4 hours for all kids over 4 seems to be quite long, especially for those who just start to learn skiing.

Serfaus itself is a nice little mountain village with not too much to do. There are a few restaurants, sport and souvenir shops, two supermarkets of which one has very very user-friendly opening hours (also during PH), and a bakery.

Room Tip: 469 is recommended if prefer a bigger room which has a view and is quiet.

Dear Pierre_Corinna,

Thank you for your feedback. We highly appreciate your honesty and we are thankful for the hands-on suggestions.

It was our pleasure to host you and your family at Hotel Löwe. We dearly hope you have enjoyed your time in Serfaus and travelled safely back home to Hong Kong.

As a leading family hotel our intention is to satisfy both parents and children. Particularly, we are proud of our high cuisine for adults, which you have enjoyed very much. For children it is our intention to serve healthy and tasty food in different varieties every day. Therefore, we offer at least 2 different types of veggies in addition to our home-made pizza, freshly cooked burgers, 6 different salads, 3 different soups and of course a choice of 2 different main course. Last but not least, we serve at least 5 different fruits in order to stimulate all sorts of tastes. Yet, we can do even better than this and we will continue to improve over the next years!

Regarding the accessibility for water throughout day & night, I would like to raise your awareness to the fact that Serfaus' has been recognized for its high quality of tap water. We assumed that guests are aware of its freshness and cleanness. However, thanks to your comment, we will advert our guests to the great tap water of Serfaus in the future.

I hope we will welcome you back in Serfaus soon and wish you all the best,
Family Heymich and the team of Hotel Löwe

We really enjoyed our week here! The kids club is great - with a range of activities to keep the older ones entertained plus they were lovely with our 6 month old. Great swimming pools spa and water park. Food very tasty and plenty of it! Very friendly service. So much for the kids to do in the beautiful mountains - rafting zipwire toboggan X trees walking. Thoroughly recommend!

As previous years we had a great holiday and stay at Hotel Lowen in Serfaus. The rooms are clean and they have very friendly staff. The food is just wonderful. The hotel has easy parking facility and is nicely located near to the Serfaus underground.
