The hotel is nicely refurbished but retains its character. The staff was very helpful. The location is excellent. The breakfast buffet was not as sumptuous as others we have had in Norway, but was sufficient.

This lovely old hotel is a nice place to stay. Our 4th floor room was smallish but comfortable with large bed, decent shower, TV and tiny fridge. A decent breakfast was included. There is very limited parking at the rear of the hotel - its very expensive to park on the street between 8am and 9pm but there is good underground parking at Apenesfjellet Parkeringhus on St Croix Gate, about 5 minutes walk away and beside the Quality Hotel.
Hotel Fredrikstad backs onto the river and a stroll along the riverside is a pleasant way to spend some time. There is also a number of places to dine along there.

Easy check in, took 1 minute before i had the keys. Spacious room with a view over the church and park. Bed was great, spacious shower. The room was as good as any. Breakfast was better than many 5 star hotels. Check out as smooth as check in.
All in all a great little family hotel.

Room tip: Front corner.

Very friendly family run hotel, really clean and spacious room with huge bed (we were lucky to have the corner room!). We were amazed by the smell of freshness when we got in. There was a heater and a small fridge available. A very pleasant surprise was that there's a diy waffle buffet every afternoon that makes you feel like home.

Lovely hotel with a lot of character, like a home away from home. Relaxing terrace downstairs. Fantastic breakfast!Best of all is the friendly, helpful service. Thanks to Lisa and her colleagues for making us feel so welcome.
