It's years since we last came here and the pub has definitely had a makeover and changed for the better. The decor's more modern, there's more space, and the menu's wider and more appealing. We were just here for lunch this time, half way through a walk, and the roast pork sandwich with apple sauce and the soup of the day (cream of plum tomato with roasted garlic and creme fraiche) were both delicious. There are some good ales on tap too, including some delicious Boondoggle blonde ale. The mains on the menu looked nice too - good to see something like spanakopita (Greek spinach pie) on a pub menu. A good place to check out and it was popular too - filling up fairly quickly as we left at 1.30 on a Sunday afternoon in October, with several large family groups, couples, walkers and more.
