Having just returned from the Cleopatra Classic Hotel all i can say is that we had a great time the Hotel is very well looked after' the staff are all great nothing is to much trouble, it's in a Great location nr the beach shops and restaurants, there were lots of couples there who had been going back for years, that says it all really

Have visited here many times,so has my daughter in law and son,but am afraid that was the last time a few weeks ago,WHY?..The food was ok,the dining room ok,the servers were extreamley friendly, the pool was clean,BUT,the surroundings of the pool area, and the shade area, was dirty,,,,it was never washed or cleaned,or hosed down,,could tell by the stains on the floor cant uderstand why it is not being cleaned as it used to be. ok,so unless some improvement wont be calling there any more, shame as no other complaints,.

After booking this hotel 'cos a friend both stayed & rep'd there, we had high hopes... the pictures looked good and the pool area has been refreshed. So, checked in but paid extra for air con & safe. The reception is tastefully decorated in orange & beige velour.
The apartment had 2 bed rooms - each with air con & safe, nice kitchen area & table, clean bath room. We all changed and lead by the pool for an hour. Went out for food...I'll come back to that! Went back to the hotel and asked for the key... got told off as we were using both air con units... in the 2 bed rooms. ALSO why had staff gone into our rooms when we'd only been there for 6 hours!???? slept on the table.. might as well have been! as beds were so hard.. Went down for breakfast as the nice kitchen has no way of making or cooking anything hot... you can't even boil water for a drink!, breakfast was the poorest continental breakfast We've ever had! The orange juice was radio-active orange, the bread - 1 choice was stale, 3 choices of economy cereal, sweaty cheese and mystery pink meat... even the muesli lacked raisins! and coffee dust was served with milk sachets.
Went to the beach, paid for sun beds go past the marina!.. walked back to the other end... go to Anna's nice food & friendly staff and free sun beds. Back to the hotel, room had been cleaned. Out for food, try to find a greek restaurant!.. good luck!, even the Cleo's bar staff had problems thinking of 1! Went to bed on the table again. Go for breakfast at Anna's, its a must! Room had been cleaned... 11:30 am, showered to leave, staff tried to enter again???... before check out time, checked out... Thankfully!

About Kardamina... Kardamina was an 18-30's must in the 80's, and is sadly still visited by the same people. its now a 48's to 60's!... sad single Scots men discussing how they stayed out to 3am drinking, whilst even sadder looking parents with their kids try to navigate around the bars & clubs with a host that will offer 5 shots for a tenner!

In summery, if you want to visit the Cleo classic, take your white flared suit and wide collared shirt, an air bed to sleep on and eat out... if you take kids, go to another resort on Kos.

Room Tip: Rooms have No way to cook!

First thing to point out is Cleopatra is not a hotel. It may have been in the past but is now a series of apartment rooms. There are two blocks of rooms one of which is a former self catering block with disconnected hob rings. Furthermore there is no evening restaurant which you would expect from a hotel. Decor and furniture is typical late 70's early 80's and could do with a freshen up. Breakfast or should I say 'toast and jam, ham and cheese is very, very basic and I can only assume this allows the Cleopatra to describe this holiday as Bed and Breakfast and not have the hassle and expense of offering self catering (if you want a morning cuppa pack a kettle). Rooms cleaned and tidied most days but towels sometimes not changed when needed. Pool area is clean and tidy but only two sun umbrellas were available around the whole of the pool side area apart from communal canopy at one end. Pool snack bar offers some nice snacks and we kept to the rules all week spending many Euro's and not taking any food or drinks bought from the supermarket although during our checkout process I dared to put half a bottle of water by the side of my sun bed after emptying the room fridge and was jumped on by the bar man within 5 minutes at 9.30am in the morning. This was made even more irritating when on our return in the evening an older lady drinking a can of supermarket lager was blatantly ignored. Another annoyance was the usual selfish reserving of sun beds. We observed one day two towels being placed on sun beds before breakfast and not being used all day to the point where the people concerned just came back late afternoon after being out all day and just took there towels away having denied someone one only two umbrellas as previously mentioned. Special mention to the lovely Sara who works the evening bar shift and was probably along with reception staff the only real plus side of the experience who made us welcome from check in to check out.

This is a lovely friendly hotel, close to the beach and a 5 minute stroll to the bars and restaurants.
All the staff are polite and helpful, especially Stam the barnan and Vangellesis on receptiion.
The cleaners work really hard cleaning your rooms every day except Friday. The only area of the hotel that is in need of a clean is the bar area floor and around the pool. We were there for 2 weeks and I never saw anyone mop or sweep these 2 areas, the floors are def in need of a good clean.
The European breakfast was awful, hardly any choice 3 different cereals which were like cardboard, tinned fruit , melon and hard bread with sliced cheese and ham. We ate out every other day just down the road where the breakfasts were delicious and very good price.
Even though the breakfast was awful the bar meals were excellent, cooked fresh, good variety and price, I would highly recommend staying by the pool and eating lunch.
I would highly recommend this hotel for location, size and the rooms were very good for Greece, basic but thats all you need. The only downside being breakfast, but at least you are given business to the local restaurants.
Kardamena is a lovely resort to visit, not so much centred on night clubs any more, I found it more for families and couples, with loads of lovely restaurants and quaint beach front bars to choose from.

Room Tip: We were on level 3, but no problem we used the stairs to keep fit and my mum and dad and daughter used the lift.
