My partner and I visited this hotel in June. We arrivedabout eleven o'clock at night at reception staff were very friendly and efficient. When we went to our room there was a ham and cheese roll each about five pieces of fruit and a bottle of water which was a nice touch.
The room was spacious and clean with lots of cupboard and wardrobe space, we were at the front of the hotel just a view of the fields and houses.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the reception staff went out of their way to help us, booking a Greek night for us, giving us bus timetables and checking our transfer pick up time when we were due to leave. We also got a shower room on the night we left as had to be out the hotel room by 12 and pick up wasn't till nine. So it was nice to freshen up. All the waiters and restaurant manager were pleasant and helpful and didn't stop especially Norman. Loti in the main bar was really efficient and funny considering the long hours they all work. Eleni at the pool bar was charming and helpful again didn't stop working.
The food was lovely and even the fussiest of eaters would find it hard not to have something they liked.
Breakfast consisted of a wide selection of rolls and bread, fresh fruit. Cereals, yoghurts ham, cheeses, salads. Hot selection included sausage (not British but ok) bacon again more like ham but ok, beans, tomatoes, hash browns, scrambled egg fried eggs, boiled eggs. Selection of jams and toast. Fresh orange, tea which had a huge selection and coffees.
Lunch would change every day but would consist of a couple of meat dishes, vegetarian, fish, pasta, chips, salads bread and rolls and a few desserts, ice cream and fruit.
Dinner again would consist of a few meat dishes, vegetarian, fish pasta and something being cooked on the hot stove.
Couldn't fault the food at all everything was quickly replenished.
The only thing that really stops this hotel being four star was the entertainment. During the day it was fine and they would come round and ask you if you wanted to join in a number of activities including, yoga, water aerobics, water polo, water volleyball, ping pong, darts, bowls and the children were well catered for.
In the evening it consisted of a mini disco from 930-100 then a selection of shows a music quiz, which was ok. A Greek night of dancing which was good. Then a variety show which was painful to watch it was all done in Italian so we didn't understand it but the Italians didn't seem to find it funny either.
As I said the hotel cleanliness, food and staff I couldn't fault but the entertainment in the evening really let it down.
The hotel has a lot of Italian guests which wasn't a problem for us but it would have been nice to understand the entertainment in the evening, and that's the only reason we wouldn't return to this hotel.
From the hotel it is a 45 min bus ride to kos and around a ten minute walk to kalimena but if you like good entertainment I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
