Stayed here February 2017. Year earlier we stayed in the Playa Gaviotas Park and loved it so we thought we would try the Palace this time. Again we loved it!! Beautiful setting, lovely food, self serve drinks area is great, room was fab! It's nice to be able to use all the sister hotels...We are returning next February to try the Playa Gaviotas!!
Highly recommend any of these three hotels...

A fantastic hotel! We stayed for 11 nights, a family of four with two teenage boys aged 16/14. Had interconnecting rooms, which were very nice and spacious (refurbished rooms). It was the ideal choice allowing the boys to have their own space/privacy. The showers were amazing ‘rainhead’ showers and the beds were really comfortable. Our cleaner (Monica I think?) was fantastic, rooms always immaculate with extra touches like sweets left on the bed or the towels made into some sort of animal or flower!

ALL of the staff in the hotel were EXCELLENT, from Martina and the reception staff to the restaurant/bar staff, and the Animation team.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, right on the edge of a huge beach but in a quiet location. We walked into Morre Jable on a couple of occasions, it is about a 25 min walk . There are a variety of shops there and it is much busier.

The food in the hotel was great, one of the most varied all inclusive buffets we have experienced. The quality of the food was of a very high standard – hats off to the chefs! They had different ‘theme’ nights. There was always loads of choice, fresh meat/fish on the grills, a carvery, pasta, pizzas and much, much more! There was never an occasion where we could not find something to eat. Breakfast was equally as good, with lots of choices. The restaurant never felt too busy and the staff were great too, always friendly and accommodating. We were even serenaded by a local band one evening who came around the whole restaurant. Around the pool, there was a snack bar with a constant supply of food from pastries, cake and fruit in the morning to a good selection for lunch and then more cakes and pastries in the afternoon!

The pool area and hotel surroundings were also excellent. Most days there was plenty of sunbeds available. On some occasions, there were rows of sunbeds not being used and the hotel staff were keen to make sure people did not leave towels on the beds all day from first thing in the morning. The pool area overlooks a fantastic beach, which was easily accessible from the hotel. Another nice touch was the waiters would bring a ‘little extra treat’ around the pool in the afternoon. This ranged from ice creams to cocktails and iced coffee, we thought this was a lovely idea.

Now to one of the things that helped to really make the holiday for us. Usually, the boys are not too keen to do a lot of the organised activities but this hotel was different! The animation team work really hard to involve everyone (but aren’t too pushy). Although reluctant on the first couple of days, they decided to go along to the ‘teen’ club …. It made their holiday! The animation team were fantastic, an extra special mention for Vlady and Louise who were mainly in charge of keeping the teenagers entertained (not an easy job). They would meet up every day at 11.00 and decide together what activities they would like to do. There was a range of nationalities English, Dutch, Belgian, German and Spanish and all the kids got on really well. The boys made some great friends and thought Vlady was great too! The activities were archery, shooting, table tennis, darts, football, basketball and much more! They even went down to the beach most days and either did volleyball, body boarding and Brazilian martial arts (one of our son’s favourite activities of the holiday!! ) So this meant the boys were entertained from 11-1 and then 3-5 every day, they would also meet up with the friends they had made in the evening as well.

We would DEFINITELY consider going back but the hotel is becoming Adults only from next Summer. Unfortunately, our youngest son will only be 15, we did joke and say we would have to go without him!!

First if all I would like to say that Iberostar Palace was still in the process of modernizing their rooms (they we're at approx 80% on our arrival). We were offered Sea side view but a non renovated room. We ended up upgrading to a shared pool room for a 60% discount. Fantastic! The room was modern, clean and very pleasant with direct access to the pool with our own personal sun beds. Food was phenomenal, especially dinner for an entire week they had a different theme.e.g. Japan, Mexico, local, etc. We had lobster on one of the nights! We were there for 9 nights. The entire animation team, especially Pablo and Alicia (the lovely Italian young lady) were fantastic!! The stuff was very friendly all round from the bars to the restaurant and reception. The only negative I had was the Juice at breakfast. They made fresh fruit juice right there on the spot but they also mixed it with artificial unpleasant juice. That was just unfortunate. Anyway that aside, beautiful sea views, beautiful beach, hotel was great and we definitely highly recommend it.

Service and friendliness of the staff all over the hotel is exceptionally good. From Management to all other personal.
However:
Floor 3 still has the old rooms which are not renovated. They are directly located under Floor 4 where the pool area is. Very noisy in the morning due to other guests reserving beds and moving umbrellas etc. At least compensate the noise with renovated rooms.

I like most people look at reviews, pick the bad one and then make a decision on that alone. On this occasion though I went with my gut and I was not disappointed. I have stopped at may 4* all inclusive holidays and it one stands out a mile as the best. From the excellent family room (I think I had a junior suite) which was very modern, clean and comfortable, to the excellent staff and facilities. Not a broken sunbed in site, the separate seating area for the snack bar overlooking the ocean. Out of all the locations I have stopped in this is the only hotel I would stop at again.

There was a large contingent of European travellers so if you are wanting an all England drinking club think again. There was a great mixture of Spanish, German, French and Dutch making the holiday far more interesting.

My only advice is towards the men in relation to the evening attire. They do enforce a long pant dress code in the evening so take extra pairs of long pants as this caught me out.

Room Tip: We had the junior suite i think and for a family of 4 (2* Children aged 13 and 10) the sofa bed was more than enough space for them and the beds were comfy as well. The bathroom was really modern and made a real differnce when getting ready on an evening. Watch the little steel peg behind the door though when going in to the wardrove. It catches you out when getting in to the safe.
