I have just returned from a week here today, virtually all my holidays have been 4 star all inclusive's with most of them in the canary islands, this is the best all inclusive hotel I have stayed in and my partner would agree to that, the cleanliness is better than most other hotels and the fresh meat and fish is in abundance along with some lovely sweets at meal times, we were both surprised at the amount of international brands included behind the bar as part of the all inclusive, the location is perfect, right on the beach and short walk from local amenities, the hotel is geared towards Germans who are its main customer which did not bother either of us at all and we found them surprisingly friendly as a whole. All of the staff were extra friendly, room was a good size and clean, nice ice cold San Miguel and reasonable wines too. Nice little extras such as bar nibbles, nuts, sweets etc. Hard to fault and some reviewers on here and looking for something that doesn't exist, would recommend and stay here again.

Room Tip: Go for sea view

Firstly, let me make a couple of things clear, one is i have nothing against germans and two, this is my opinion based on our stay here the first two weeks in March.

So, to begin, ive read some of the reviews and not sure some people actually stayed at the same hotel i did !!! Ive stayed in hotels quite a lot in my career and a fair bit in the last 15 years travelling on holiday and to be honest this is one of the best i have ever stayed in.
The hotel itself was well laid out, i stayed in two rooms, second week i upgraded to the top floor which was amazing although there was absolutely nothing wrong with the first one, i just like being high and get as much sun as i can. Rooms were of a very good size, very clean and a good sized bathroom with toiletries supplied daily if needed. Reception was big and welcoming, the staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The pool bar was actually very clean and well used by people everyday with a good selection of drinks and food at lunchtime, bearing in mind its only for snacks not full meals. The upstairs bar was often busy but i never had to wait long for service as the staff were very very efficient and knew their stuff. A bonus was the drinks were branded, very unusual and very welcome.
Two swimming pools, one heated, one cold, the heated pool was perfect for early morning swimming in earnest and daytime perfect for messing about and playing in, ideal for kids of all ages. The cold one was just a little too cold this early for me but some brave souls were in it regularly...
Sunbathing.....lots of sunbeds, often laid out close together but very movable giving more room if you wanted it. Against type the towels weren't out early in the morning despite there being a german majority..lol only one day i couldnt get a sunbed but then, it was three o clock in the afternoon !!!!!
No Disrespect to any other reviewer but one did question the nearness of the beach???? leave the hotel...theres the beach, 15 seconds.....you cant get nearer than that!!
The beaches are amazing, big and wide, room for everyone.
Now ...the germans....yes, they are the main visitor group and the hotel is geared towards them but then that is just good business sense catering to the majority but i must say i never had an issue with any of them apart from they do have a weird predilection for strange moustaches and very strange hair colouring !!!
The hotel stresses its cuisine and says it prides itself on its food ..well i'm a big, big foodie and although very forgiving when i'm on holiday i did not have to be here, the food was lovely, every meal time the selection was huge, wide and varied...and extremely well cooked. They had themed nights such as fish but if like me you dont like fish there were always many altenatives, i had chicken, sprouts, carrots gravy..every night there was a choice of two soups and if there is still nothing you can find you like there is always a counter with hamburger, sausage, egg and chips ..Desserts were delightful and varied. Chefs serving were very proud of their food and when i complimented them they burst into a huge smile. There are two fine dining nights, i did the spanish night and it was stunning, worthy of any high end restaurant.
The main restaurant was well laid out and the waiters and waitresses worked very hard keeping your table clear and trying to make your eating experience a pleasant one every day. We had a waitress called daniella who was friendly, funny and very efficient, a delight to see every day.
You may find this hard to believe and think i'm lying or maybe employed by the hotel (i assure you i'm not doing either) but in two weeks i never found one, not one member of staff who was not friendly, cheerful and helpful ....from start to finish seriously, i was amazed...

As i said at the start this review these are my opinions and based on my experiences in different countries and many visits to the Canary islands so in summary.....if you dont like germans, dont go, if your exceptionally picky and expect ultimate perfection, dont go.
If, on the other hand, you want an excellent hotel with great staff, wonderful food, wide and varied facilites on an amzing beach for a good price.......book this one...give it a shot its well worth it, we are going back later in the year.....and to be honest, can't wait.

Room Tip: go high if you can afford it , better access to the sun.

Hotel is one of three on the same site, this one being closest to the beach BUT not ON the beach. Need to walk a little distance and then onto the beach where you can hire beds and umbrellas. No beach facilities provided by the hotel but you will find a small cafe on beach and also toilets.

Having said this the hotel was well appointed and as many other reviewers have said the food and choice of drinks was excellent. Dining, especially supper could be a bit manic and we found it better to leave it a little after our allocated time ( either 6pm or 7.30 pm) to make the dining experience more pleasurable. Staff very pleasant and very accommodating albeit perhaps a little sparse especially for clearing tables. Nice to have fresh fruit available all day.

The rooms were a good size and very clean. Provision of 1.5 litres of water per head was excellent with this being refreshed every day. We initially had a room that had an internal door probably for families etc. but we found that we could hear our neighbours so requested to be moved to a 'contained, quieter' room which was accomplished without us feeling we were being awkward.

We found that the outside area was nicely appointed but very, very cramped with sun beds very close to each other and if you had the misfortune of having smokers nearby you 'enjoyed' their smoke too. Beach for us was our choice with better space around the sun beds also access to sea which had a gently sloping beach and easy access into the sea. Very, very long beach with folk marching up and down all day; quite entertaining!

Resort in a complex of three hotels in same chain. All four star. Location some distance from rest of resort but smaller shopping centre close by but no easy access to main shops, bars etc. which one might like to experience.

Very good facilities for children with shallow pool and good play area. Evening entertainment less good but at least there was something. TV very limited unless your were fluent in German but then on holiday one always has a good book or two!

First time with this particular chain of hotels and would certainly look to book with them again in other locations.

I forgot to actually rate this hotel at the time last year, my wife & I were there during July when Fuerteventura's weather is at it's hottest. The wind was blowing quite a lot, as usual, but it did not stop us enjoying the hotel and the rest of Jandia.
We were one of two UK families in the hotel, the vast majority of guests were German, with some French and Spanish. I won't bore you by complaining about our European neighbours because there weren't any complaints - we all got on tremendously well, which was proved when I went to sit in the upstairs bar to watch the German F1 Grand Prix. I was the only Brit there amongst a set of very loyal German motor racing fans. Mercedes won the race but it was Nico Rosberg (German driver) rather than Lewis Hamilton that won! I cheered as much as anyone, and ensured that they all knew that the Mercedes Team were based in the UK!
The drinks are top drawer, the food was good, the bed was hard, and we were tucked away in a very end room, which was relatively quiet. The entertainment left a little to be desired but the solution was to have another large drink.
I would recommend the hotel at any time as a good hotel for Brits who want to see the better part of Jandia, and to experience close contact with our European neighbours.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the beach - they are the best.

First make sure you know the difference between the Playa Gaviotas (this hotel) and the Gaviotas park (sister hotel on same site)

This hotel sits in a great location, right on the edge of a stunning beach with very easy access.
It is 80km from the airport so I would recommend using private transfers.
Overall this hotel caters for the German market which is a good thing. It had a middle to retirement aged clientele with some younger families and children. (Partially driven by time of visit) It was quiet and people were polite and courteous lending to a good friendly atmosphere.

First impressions at reception were good. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. We were initially unhappy with our room (simply due to location and being fussy) In spite of this the team were fast to find us a more suitable alternative with no grumbling. A small army then mobilised to deliver our bags to the new room and install a bed for our daughter. All done and dusted in minutes and without fuss. A very impressive and stress free start to the holiday.

The rooms are of sensible size and the bathrooms are fine. The shower head is on a hose so easy for toddler sluice downs after trips to the beach. The hotel is dated but the paint is fresh and all areas are clean and fresh. Balconies are private and the sound insulation was effective. The beds are firm. We had a side room with a wonderful view of the beach and sea, probably one of the best I've ever had in a hotel like this.
The ladies cleaning the rooms did a great job and didn't seem to be rushed in their work meaning they had time to attend to the details. You will receive 2 x 2litre bottles of water a day which I think is a nice touch. (Ask for more if you need it...)

An irritation was the constant clacking noise of wheeled suitcases and staff trolleys on the tiles in the corridor at all hours. It drove me nuts.
Also there are ZERO spare power sockets in the room and only one for the TV and one for the fridge hidden behind a cabinet. We had to pull out the unit and reach behind to plug things in. In this day and age I reckon that's rubbish.
TV channels are German orientated, but as we had the TV unplugged most of the time it didn't get switched on once.
As others have said the Wi-Fi is chargeable. If you have a sensible roaming plan for your mobile the 3G service is decent and cheaper than paying for the wi-fi. Videos weren't great but for keeping up with news etc... it is more than adequate.

The hotel is pretty isolated, you can walk to a small shopping centre with SPA in about 10mins and on to Morro Jable in 30mins but it's quite a trek with a 3 year old. Taxi services can be arranged from reception which are cheap and reliable. 4 euro to Morro Jable. There are taxi ranks in Morro Jable so you know you'll be able to get back ok. There is a fantastic watersports centre right next to the hotel with enthusiastic staff and quality equipment.

The restaurant was probably a cut above for a European all inclusive. Again the staff were wonderful and worked hard to keep tables set and the food coming, although it does feel rather frantic and isn't a very relaxed dining experience. Alcoholic drinks are of decent quality but there are only full sugar fizzy drinks or water available for the children. Deserts were lacklustre and the ice cream flavours repetitive.

The bar area is decent, but way too small. The restaurant is large, and there are 2 sittings. The bar is small. The numbers simply don't work and in the evenings there is a scramble for the bar as the auditorium for entertainment doesn't open until late and it was very frustrating to not be able to relax in the bar.

The pool bar was one facility that we felt really let the hotel down, it was always a bit grubby and in dire need of an upgrade. Generally we avoided it.

The staff are the backbone to this hotel and are clearly it's best asset. The price is probably about right, we certainly didn't feel that we had overpaid and would happily recommend it to others.
