Perfect vacation spot if you need to switch off your mind and just relax and forget the world. The Spanish "siesta"-kind-of-attitude helps to make it possible.
My mum and I spent a week here and if we could, we would've loved to stay at least 3 more days!
The service was brilliant (from the cleaning lady to the ladies at the reception, waiters, chefs, barkeepers and even gardeners everyone made us feel welcome and happy). At this point special thanks to beautiful Suely for always giving us the best service at our table. But the entire staff at Atlantico restaurant deserves a BRAVO. THANK YOU! We ate a couple times from the normal buffet 'downstairs' as well - and that was fine, too. But Atlantico definitely has a more personal feel to it and the food is of higher quality, so is the service. Atlantico has a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere, too.

At the complex there's food and drinks anywhere you go, I've never managed to drink so much wine in one week haha

We personally barely spent any time laying by the pool, because the sea is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and the water is warm enough to go swimming in May. The hotel is in a beautiful scenery. Loved taking strolls along the beach to Morro Jable, as well as going for runs in the morning while the sun was rising beautifully.

The room met our expectations, it was quiet, perfectly chilly at nighttime after a long hot day, with a balcony situated to the seaside. The only annoying thing was the sliding door right in front of our room (#155) - I didn't pay notice to the sounds, but my mum was a little annoyed, since it woke her up anytime someone went through several times during our stay. And if we'd complain about the smallest most unimportant things - I cut my hand on the shower head which needs to be changed.

All in all the freedom and luxury of getting to choose is great - with your black wristband you get anywhere and everywhere and that's really cool.

One more time - thank you to the lovely staff!!! They made our stay special and many had such a great sense of humour, too! Thanks for a brilliant vacation, we had the best time! And we will come back!

We recently returned from our two week break here. As usual we were warmly greeted by lovely Marianna, and settled into our room. Lovely to also meet with May again too, later in our stay. Just a couple of minor issues with our room. Main being the TV (which we only watch in evening for daily news update each day) had a major malfunction ( everything showing was upside down !) so it was changed for another immediately. Came back to the room a few days into stay and the fridge drinks had been completely stripped without explanation, but finally restocked later. Spotlessly clean room as always and our housekeeper keep it so throughout our stay so great credit to her. Turn down service with pillow chocs and fresh towels in the evening too which was an extra little touch. Since my last visit and hotels new name change there were a few changes within the Premium Level. The green room has been slightly extended, but same bar staff as good as ever, and the usual decent premium drinks. ( Although I asked for Hendricks gin and was told this was a price extra). We chose to spend most time on the higher top deck of the complex to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. First week it was a little busier and the small bar in this area was open throughout this time. Jesus and Christian doing a fine job. On the second week it was closed, but after speaking with another lovely lady from customer relations Linda, we suggested that as this service was included in our stay, provisions should be in place to still offer guests some sort of alternative. After all despite the hotel having slightly less guests ( although personally we did not find much of a difference) we should still all be entitled to the same service whatever. Anyway Linda was very good and quickly rectified this.
Now onto the main cause for concern. Food as I've mentioned on other occasions here. Firstly the newly revised al la carte. We visited three times in all. It's closed twice a week so guests all use either Atlantico or the buffet downstairs that's part of the main hotel. A quick note. The large buffet restaurant incidentally has a separate area for premium guests from the Premium Level, with seating inside and outside on a small terrace. Also waiter service for drinks. This restaurant was obviously a great deal larger than Premium, and filled with of course families. It was bright clean and offered a much larger choice of food. Even lovely pans of paella which strangely were never offered in Premium, despite being the taste of Spain. Food was of a hotter level here too, with microwaves should anyone need to use which we personally didn't. There was a different food theme each night too. It was a change to visit, away from what could be quite repetitive food in Premiums Atlantico Restaurant. Especially when staying for a couple of weeks.
Now back to al la carte. Each evening was a different theme. We chose Asia twice and Tex Mex fusion once. Three choices for starter, main and dessert. With welcome drink and appetiser. The food was ok on two visits, but not quite so impressed with third. It's definitely not a patch on the old al la carte offering, and speaking to other guests for their feedback during our stay, they had tried it and most just were not at all impressed. It's a huge shame they've changed what used to be a great format, everyone used to say how great it was, and now I can say I've actually tried the new offering in person I do have to agree. A couple whilst our stay even walked out during their meal as they were not at all happy with the food.
Atlantico is now the main Premium restaurant. You might think they'd make sure food was 100% now this is the very main restaurant wouldn't you. This is sadly still where problems lie. We waited in fairness a week before giving comment. Whilst presentation of food is very good, although it would be nice if the show cooking grill gave more than just a straightforward piece of fish or meat. How about adding extras like a little stir fry to the mix. There also seemed the same meats and fish throughout our stay on the show cooking grill, except once one day when large prawns or steak portions were offered, but never again during our stay. and it would have been lovely to have this selection again. Cold table selection mainly was excellent, the big problem once again is temperature of the hotplate offered food. It really needs a complete change in the old style hotplate unit. Food is prepared and served in ceramic uncovered dishes ( rather than metal, covered units) so obviously whilst all looking very nice on presentation, very very rapidly lost heat if food wasn't immediately chosen by guests. It's not good enough to have eye pleasing food, when the temperature was often cold. Whilst we don't expect food to be piping hot as that's not the European way, some sort of decent heat is surely not asking too much. We purposely visited every service at opening time, even staying for longer occasions during dinner service, (as food and dining out plays a great part overall in our holidays) but things never changed throughout our stay. After a week I commented about this problem to Morrana who said this would be noted, and once again later during our stay to Linda. She did suggest as a temp solution we should ask the grill chef to put any cold food on the grill to warm up. Fine as a short term solution, but not the answer to the problem. For a short time managers buzzed around 'looking' at the food. All very commendable as everything looks very nice, but just not warm enough. We feel that the reason nothing ever gets properly addressed regarding this, is firstly because most British people don't like to cause a fuss, and are so very polite they won't give a negative comment ( and yet many guests we spoke to gave the very same concerns) Plus management think the food looks very pleasing to the eye within the restaurant regardless of how it tastes. That is simply not good enough. Some guests ate outside of the hotel due to both disappointment in the new al la carte, or food issues in Atlantico.
We just don't understand why the issues are not rectified. Regarding tepid/cold food, the hotel will keep on regularly getting negative comments about this until they at last do something about it, and change the equipment. The problem will just not go away until then, and it causes more problems than not surely for the hotel. Some guests have commented they won't return unless changes are made. Incidentally a lot being past regular guests. Why lose these and other valuable guests due to doing nothing about such easily solved problems. It makes no sense at all. The hotel kindly ask for our feedback. Now please finally do something about the comments then.
So all in all we did have a good two weeks break besides the issues mentioned. We met some smashing people. Most waitstaff ( plus of course guest reception) were great. Very efficient and professional in their work and a great credit to the hotel. Many people have worked in Premium for a longtime, as I recognise them on each of my stays. Special mention to Marianna (so friendly and welcoming to greet you) May and Moranna also great guest services, plus a big thank you to Linda on guest services, who was so very good in helping to rectify the service issue on top deck, plus listening to our concerns regarding food ( you've just got to finally convince management now Linda!) She also came to make sure everything was OK, and could not have done more to help. Big thank you. Also thank you in Atlantico to Fila, Suely, Sonia, Cornelia ( and apologies the young lady whose name we didn't have) plus Jessica who made the very best omelettes ever each morning, and all the guys in service too.
I am returning for a weeks stay in July. Hopefully management will have listened finally to the concerns given, and all for the better.
Thank you Premium and looking forward to July.

My partner & I have just arrived home after spending 7 fabulous nights in this amazing hotel. It was our 2nd visit, hopefully a 3rd visit in September. The staff cannot do enough for you. The food is beautiful, the drinks are branded drinks and the wine is delicious!! Daniel and staff in the green room are brilliant..so friendly. The a la carte is a must, top class food & wine served by great staff especially Marco. The rooms are cleaned to a high standard..little chocolates left on your pillar which is lovely touch..cold drinks & fruit brought to your sunbeds again a nice touch..

Absolutely loved this hotel. Will definitely book adults only again. We were greeted with cava and then given a free room upgrade because it was my husband's birthday. We also had cava and chocolate in the room. It was a lovely touch to have the bed turned down each evening, with a chocolate left both sides of the bed. Lovely idea to have the lights on the entrance to the restaurant the same colour as the welcome drink!! Amazingly thoughtful. The only negative is that the food was, at times, cold and not even warm. To me, this was a really minor issue but one that does need addressing. Overall, I absolutely loved my stay here and would not hesitate to book again.

We wanted an adults only all inclusive holiday and this hotel delivered. The Barcelo Club Premium is part of the Occidental Jandia Playa hotel right down in the southernmost end of the island about a hour and a half coach ride from the airport after stopping and several hotels along the way. If it's relaxation you want this is it. The premium adults only area has an exclusive pool area, bar and buffet restaurant but you have access to the whole complex too. Because it is on a slightly higher up level you are fairly well shielded from the general noise and bustle of the main complex. On the other hand if it is excitement and activities you are after this won't be for you.
The staff were all pretty friendly and helpful and all but the housekeeping maids had good English. The room was a good size with kettle and minibar. Our room opened straight out onto the pool area which was very convenient. The drinks were all good quality and familiar brands and the measures generous. The food was good but not exceptional and after a day or two rather repetitive. Keeping food hot seems to be a general problem here but at the buffet starting with plates from the heater helps. There is an alternative a la carte restaurant available but with a limited choice. The food here was OK and made for a change from the buffet.
For us a week was just long enough without getting bored. There is a beach about 10 minutes away but not much else in Jandia
