When on holiday in a place like Gouvia one does expect touristic food for cheap and bad service by pretty people. C'est la vie!
However, the chef in this restaurant actually loves his job and we got off-menu surprise starters of pasta with tuna and fresh veggies. After: juicy (!!) grilled meat, fresh seafood risotto and the typical corfiotic dish of stifado wasnt drowned in onionsoup at this place. Too bad the lasagne got burned but due to the busy evening it can happen. It can happen anyway.
George, the waiter, was absolutely great. Friendly and funny and he really did feel sorry about the lasagne wich he tried to compensate and all that wasnt necessary but it only made the experience better.
When we left he wrote me a little poem. Something about the sun in my face. Sounds a bit cheesy, but im just a girl!
Just give it a try when on holiday :-)
