“Perfect for breakfast!”
Reviewed 11 February 2013

I will come here time and time again just for the fresh-baked bagels! With an excellent atmosphere and very reasonably priced items, it's the perfect place for a Saturday morning breakfast. Try the 'breakfast in a glass' smoothie - you might not need to order any food! Very satisfying, highly recommended.

GUSTO CAFÉ - Tanjung Bunga/Hillside next to Esso station

The GUSTO CAFÉ is the latest addition to a long list of newly opened restaurant’s/café’s and it is a breath of fresh air, inviting and has a very simple concept which is true and honest food at a fair price. Entering you’ll be welcomed by cool jazz, might be a bit loud but the accommodate you and turn it down a bit, no problem. The GUSTO CAFÉ has a kiddy menu, something which a rarity on an island famed for its food! The cappuccino is excellent as is the food. Prices range from RM5 to RM29 when you can truly completely “pig-out”. It is clean and they have their “in-house toilet” which is another added bonus! We have watched this café; we’ve asked around and yes, no negative comments. We were happy with food and service. Opening hours are from 6am to 3pm and thought go out to a adding an evening menu but finding a chef who actually knows what true “western food” is is not so easy. Another very important thing; they are will not use is the poisonous MSG (adjinomoto/monosodium glutamate) and if the meal has too big GUSTO CAFÉ will put the left-overs into a brown carton box instead of the disastrous plastic/foam boxes which take 50++ years to disappear out of our environment. We would be recommending this café … for sure, people on a tight budget will find it the answer to their prayers, you feel at home and have a good meal.

“a gem --- tasty gem”
Reviewed 6 February 2013

Find it first: just up from the esso station. Great coffee. Ridiculously reasonable prices and a broad menu for a cafe, including fresh-baked bagels. Many other cold drink, non-coffee options to chill your overheated body. The passionfruit smooshie was a highlight.

“Affordable and good food”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

Cosy cafe at Tanjung Bunga. If you're on the go and need breakfast bright and early, this would be the place. It's hard to find cafes that are open for business as early as 0630 hours on weekdays. Very good service and friendly staff. If I recall correctly, there is kopi luwak on the menu so, if you're game to try something different...go for it. I plan to return soon, to try the luwak.

“Food from the heart”
Reviewed 10 January 2013

The menu is eclectic, and the portions large. Feel free to request amendments or combinations within reason--they are very eager to accommodate dietary needs and preferences.

Beware of peak period crush. It is sometimes standing room only, and menu items will run out.
