A local friend recommended this place to us as this restaurant was close to our hotel.

We arrived around 6pm and we were the first 2 guests. We ordered fish curry w/ ladies' finger, eggplant w/ sambal sauce, and the stir-fried tamarind prawn following the advise of the owner (looks like he is) of the restaurant. All of the dishes were very good!.The fish was very tender .
Initially we didn't want any rice; but he insisted that we needed to have 1 order -- which was also the right decision. With such flavorful sauces, I guess no one could resist to have some rice to go.

I guess we will definitely come back to this place. ( and better get more friends together so more dishes could be ordered!)

Our hotel manager recommended and made a booking for us at this very popular restaurant in Georgetown. The food is a fusion of Chinese and Malaysian cuisine. The manager was helpful in assisting with choosing dishes and the meal was very tasty. Very popular so make a booking.

There were 7 not so hungry people going to dinner but the food was so good we could not stop eating and kept ordering more. We met Auntie and she was delightful. Definitely a must in Penang for Peranakan Food

We had a set priced lunch and were very impressed with the quality and value. As lunch had been planned around a relative's lunch break this was all we had time for.
Looking at the á la carte items on the other tables the more extensive menu seemed very promising.
It is de rigeur these days for any restaurant in Old Georgetown to put up a sign saying "Nonya". We have been to some hopeless ones, Nonya in name only. Auntie Gaik Lean's is getting it right.

This was on our list of “must try’s” whilst in Penang & when we accidentally walked past it we booked dinner & were not disappointed. Absolutely stunning food 2 iced teas, Kapitan chicken, otak otak, Prawn fritters & steamed rice for MYR98. Gr8 value & the most delicious food! Highly recommended. Service was prompt friendly, pleasant atmosphere with good AC.
