We like this hote, asl compared to First World and Theme Park hotel as the room is neat, spacious, comfortable and modern. We got a room with a view facing the outdoor theme park which is easily accessible from this hotel. The room is fitted with a unique wardrobe which can be access both from the room and bathroom. The room is also equipped with an iron and ironing board beside the usual coffee/ tea facility. Level B5 had an 'Old Town' cafe, a mini supermart and a rather run-down cafeteria. Parking space is rather limited and difficult to secure during busy seasons.
Check in staff is efficient and friendly as well, if we are too early for check in, the staff would pre-register us and informed us via SMS when the room is ready so that we could explore elsewhere instead of waiting at the lobby. It's the hotel of choice for us in Genting.

Room Tip: For travelers who dislike noise or are light sleepers, request for a room facing the mountains, inst...

Most of the few hotels present at Genting, other than the Awana, are kind of grouped together and you can move internally from one to the other, in most cases. It takes less than one hour to hit Genting from KL and the change in the climate is phenomenal.... from sultry KL, you hit a hill-station within the space of an hour with the climate here being cool the year round. During my repeat trips, I avoided the cable-car [which takes you from a certain point in Genting right upto the hotels] since I was discouraged by the stopping/ swaying and the creaking sounds which emanate when the car starts again !!! I preferred to be dropped off by the taxi, at the hotel itself. The hotel, for the record, has a record 6000 odd rooms and figures in the Guinness Book of Records. The amenities are quality but basic, drinking water is available from taps placed on each floor, specifically saying 'Drinking water' and the overall view from the higher floors is fantastic. Note however, that you need to pay extra in case you want a room with a view, else you shall get one facing out onto the wall of adjacent hotel-building !!! All in all, Genting is worth visiting over and over again .....

Room Tip: Ensure that you get a 'room with a view' by paying extra, else you shall be saddled with one...

Got a good rate and checkin to stay for a night, checking in around midnight. Only 2 staff mending the counter. In front of me have a small group of 4 person checking in, as i was the second person on the Q, i overheard between the group and the staff. The staff try to satisfy the group request on bed, location and querry of the place. Ignoring the Q build up behind, after half an hr looking at the Q build up and the group still asking question on the place. Finally the group left and my turn to checkin, staff ask me many non related question. I find too helpful but dunno what their customer wants. I actually want my room so i could sleep.

Room Tip: Higher floor and room facing in provide a good view.

My family of 4 stayed in the Superior Deluxe Room and was pleasantly surprised by the room cleaniness and ambience plus a great mountain view..there is even a sofa bed and separate dressing table in the closet. However, I wish the LCD TV should be at least 42 inch due to the room size..These rooms are not many and subject to availability and request. The concierge and front office staff are quite polite and patient. It is situated near the outdoor theme park and Old Town Cafe..and there is free wifi at Coffee Bean cafe at the lobby. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next vacation in Genting.

Room Tip: Select room near the lift area

Having stayed at First World Hotel and Theme Park Hotel, I was expecting more during my 2 nights stay at Resort Hotel Genting. However, I was left feeling very disappointed with this hotel as it has terrible sleep quality.

I was given a room on the 3rd floor with a mountain view facing directly at the Theme Park. The hotel room does not have any air-conditioning, as such, I got to open the windows. I had a hard time trying to sleep not because of the noise from the Theme Park (it is closed by 10pm), but from the traffic noise directly from the road leading up to Genting Highlands. To top it off, the room itself has paper-thin walls. The occupants next door have a habit of bathing past midnight and at 6am in the morning. Suddenly, I wished I was staying at First World Hotel instead, never mind that First World Hotel was cramped and small, at least I am able to get a good rest there.

Room-wise, complimentary coffee/tea and newspapers were given but not bottled water. TV had international channels like ESPN and Star Sports. The shower heater was eccentric, it was sometimes hot, sometimes cold, totally cannot be controlled as it seemed to have a life on its own. I was also quite surprised that for a 4-Star hotel, it provides those 3-in-1 kind of soap for everything. Checkout was probably the fastest in the world, took me less than 1 sec as hotel personnel were waiting patiently at the lift lobby to collect the room cards from those checking out.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor, don't ever stay on the 3rd floor.
