What not to like about this place? Everything is beautifull: the view of the bay with the rocks, the beach, the pool, the grounds with palm trees, the open air restaurant. We liked it that there were a lot of complementary extra's, like excursions, drinks and snacks at the pool with the manager, a massage, yoga-lesson. Every day there was an activity, We could take a bike, or rent a scooter. Or just walk to one of the restaurants in the neighbourhood for a change of scnenery. We loved our family beach front bungalow, with daybeds and an open air bathroom. Staff is very friendly. We were told july is the "green season"so risk of rain, but we had just 7 days of great weather. This was our first time to Thailand, and I was afraid this place would not be as beautifull as the pictures on the website, but it was just like that. Lovely!

Room Tip: if you are with a family: beach villa 15 at the far end of the resort

We are indeed located in paradise and the skies are still nice and blue with hardly any rain at all, long may it continue!!

We are pleased to know that you appreciated our complimentary treats such as a morning head & shoulder massage, yoga, boat trip etc and we hope that your first trip to Thailand will result in many more.

Best regards,

If Six Senses is the latest iPhone 7 running iOS 10, Koyao Island Resort is an iPhone 5 running iOS 10.

What I like (+) and did't like (-):

+Top Notch Hospitality/ Service
The staff here are very warm, Simon the resident manager was personable and you could chat with him about anything regarding the resort. The front desk was very accommodating to our requests, you definitely feel well taken care of, from your transfers to the airport and the excursions that they plan. They are very customer focused at this resort.

+Activities and Excursions
They organise free/discounted activities such as boat trip excursion, cocktails by the pool, yoga classes, tuk tuk trips of the village, etc. They also provide free use of bicycles and kayaks, which came in very handy. I personally liked the boat excursions to the islands, there is a free one every week (which felt like something you would pay a lot for), and the chicken island excursion. These were priceless and the best part of our trip. The guides were very knowledgeable and were always few steps ahead of the other tour providers, which helped avoid the big tourist crowds and create a very intimate vibe.

- Old Resort
The only thing that detracted from the experience was the hardware of the hotel. It felt more like a chalet with 5-star hotel service. The location of the resort is great as it shares the same view with Six Senses, however the framing and context of that view is really not the same. If you are looking for an Aman, Como, Six Senses kind of hotel for a honeymoon, then this is definitely not the place. If you are looking for an Island experience that has good value, then this would suit.

That being said, you can tell they are constantly improving the place, and their new private tented villas on the cliff look really promising.

Also, the Thai restaurant next to the resort, P Chan (which was recommended by Simon, Thanks Simon) had the best Thai food we had on our trip. Please check it out.

Thank you for your fantastic 5 star review.

It is of great comfort for us to know that our guests appreciate and recognize the level of service that we give. We certainly have a rustic feel about the resort and a lot of old hard'wood' is used in order to be eco friendly and blend in with our natural environment.

We are very pleased to know that you enjoyed the activities and excursions and hopefully we will have the opportunity to welcome you back at sometime in the future.

Best regards,

The best customer service, the most beautiful scenery & the rooms were very comfortable, clean & just fabulous. The food was delicious, the skooters were fun to ride around the island. The massages were relaxing! A place to go for absolute R & R! We are definitely coming back!!!

Thank you for your kind review, we are very privileged here to have an "Absolutely Amazing" view from the resort looking out over Phang Nga Bay.

Our Spa staff are more than pleased that you enjoyed their treatment and our chefs are looking forward to cooking up a delicious storm in the kitchen for your next return visit.

This place is fantastic for relaxing, hanging out and recharging. If you are looking for a touristy place, or nightlife, or bustling nightlife/shopping this is not the place for you. If you want a place where you relax, lounge, enjoy the service and the view this is the place. The villas with outdoor bath (very private!) is definitely worth it.

The only reason for 4, and not 5, stars is that a little more life around would have been desirable - but that is the island, not the hotel!

Thank you for your "Wonderful" review, we do pride ourselves on being the perfect place to relax and recharge your battery.

Our outdoor bathrooms add to our 'at one with nature' feel, the same feeling around the island as indeed it is a very nice quiet island.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to recharge again in the future.
