Despite having run out of most things on a busy bank holiday the staff were great and accommodated our Gluten Free diets .. home made fish pie lovely ... although veggie options very limited.

Disregard all reviews from 2017 and before. This pub has been renovated and has new owners. The previous 'version' had become very rundown and (frankly) you wouldn't want to go!! New owners are finding their feet, but the food is lovely, reception warm and it is what a country pub should be. Thoroughly recommend it

Had a lovely lunch in the refurbished pub so returned for an evening meal. Unfortunately one meal was fine but the burger was possibly the worst I've had in years - was it pre-packed? May give it one more chance. Disappointing

Called in on Sunday night to see the refurbishments done to this once run down establishment . We were nicely impressed so decided to stay and sample the food. I'm glad to say they can accomodate my gluten free diet. Lovely Homemade soup with gluten free bread (lots of establishments can offer me soup but never the bread to go with it), then I had the roast beef Sunday roast very tasty but my husband and I thought the portions could be slightly bigger. He had venison pie with vegetables and chips but a tiny portion of chips, both cost £13.00 which is probably a little dearer than other establishments in the area. My husband finished with chocolate brownie with salt caramel icecream which he said was delicious but again quite expensive at £6.00 when the average desert in the area is £3.00 to £4.00 . We will return in the future and wish this lovely young couple good luck in their new adventure.
