After writing my review on Playa Club apartments, when i went there in March well i did return there in June... The receptionists could not have been nicer to me... Once again, the apartment was ideal, this time i had booked one by the pool.. it was perfect.. i could sit outside my veranda having lunch with the pool right beside me.. I also found out that down at the other end of the pool there are steps down which bring you to a fine big supermarket... you dont even have to leave the complex.. this was just fantastic.. a 2 min stroll to purchase your fresh breakfast rolls and orange juice in the mornings.. bliss. .. i did read another review where people were complaining about having to find their own apartment .. sure its as easy as A, B C... at reception they give you a map.. every little footpath has signs up showing the numbers of the apartments so you just cant get lost.... the complex isnt huge...... i also booked extra pillows and they were already in my apartment when i arrived... as our flight was later than check out , they allowed us to store our luggage in a locked room and very kindly gave us keys to an apartment for us to freshen up with fresh towels and shower gel etc.. before our departure. Once again Playa Club left a very good impression with me. .. but i knew it would after my last visit there.. also.. oh one other thing,,just outside the reception area.. turn left and literally across the road. there is a taxi rank... and lots of shops and restaurants on your doorstep.. well done Playa Club for making my holiday enjoyable once again... See you next year.

Stayed here as 2 families one family of 4 and one family of 5 when arrived we were given 4 apartments for two families which sleep 3 in each apartment this was not what we booked we booked 2 apartments which 5 people this was not suitable for our needs so told reception about it but as it was late we managed for 1 night and she said she would sort out tomorrow. we thought that there was no way we could change rooms as height of season probably fully booked. spoke to rep in morning who spoke to receptionist for us and they said we could have new rooms at 11.00 that day and they kept their promise we had the rooms we wanted at 11.00.
the rooms were lovely very spacious and plenty of cupboard space kitchen was good had 4 rings and full size oven kettle toaster coffee maker.only small cups but we took our own.
the pool was freezing some days but it was big and very nice surroundings and plenty of sunbeds also garden area with sunbeds.
cheap supermarket called hyper dino express round the corner but ask at reception for card and theres a shortcut by the pool a door leading straight to it.
plenty of places to eat left and right out of the hotel try the galleon 2 nice place but small.
saw a few cockroaches and cats but are no bother
all in all lovely hotel and lanzorote is a lovely place .
try to visit the caves worthwhile north side of the island.

Look no further than the Playa Club for a self catering holiday in Puerto Del Carmen. Just back from an absolutely fabulous one week holiday. I was a bit worried after reading some of the negative reviews. However, i would like to say that anyone you can write a bad review on this complex must be extremely hard to please. We arrived at midnight and a lovely friendly girl checked us in and a secutiy man showed us to our apartment. We were allocated a beautiful 2-bedroomed apartment with a pool view and glimpse of the sea. It was home from home and contained everything you would need for a comfortable stay (i.e. full kitchen with proper kettle and toaster, tv, safety deposit box, hair dryer etc....). Maid cleaned our room 5 days out of the 7. The room was always spotless, as was the whole complex. All of the staff, (i.e. reception, maintenance, maids, poolside bar, security) were all very helpful and could not do enough for you. The complex is split into two (complex A and complex B). There is a Spa onsite, where you can get get full use of facilities for 7.00 euro per day (i.e. hydro pool, sauna, steam, jet pool, floatation pool etc...). Also, clients of the Playa Club receive15% discount on hair and beauty treatments. There is a little side entrance that leads into the Hiper Dino Supermarket (you must ask for a key at reception), must easier than walking out of complex and around. Lovely snack bar selling Full Irish Breakfast for 2.00 euro and other small snacks. Reception has 3 internet points and as far as i know there is free wif fi in public areas. The complex is on the main strip of Puerto Del Carmen, so no need for taxis. There is a lovely Chinese Restaurant called the Hong Kong about a minute walk way, where you can get a beautiful two course meal for 6.95. Some other restaurants i would recommend are Poppadom (Indian), La Aveneida (Mexican) and New World (Chinese). Would not recommend the Cantina chain of restaurants, we ate in two different ones and did not get a good meal. The best bar for live music is Charlies Bar, a guy called Rory Gallagher from Donegal (ex.the Revs) plays there 6 nights per week and he is really excellent, also guest artist is the brilliant Siobhan Bell (ex Mulligans). Overall a great holiday, would highly recommend the Playa CLub. Excellent location, friendly staff and spotless clean. Could not fault this place.

Room Tip: Ask for room in Complex A

Myself and my Boyfriend stayed here for a week in august, we wanted a nice relaxing hoilday and thats what we got.
The appartments were in a great location it was jus a minute walk onto the main strip of peurto del carmen where all the shops, bars and restaurants are. There was a beautful Beach and taxi rank jus across the road also.
Our room was cleaned everyday with a fresh supply of towels. The overall upkeep of the appartments are great, They are spotless clean
I Would really reccomend these for familys and couples looking for a quite and relaxing hoilday.
The only downside to these appartments are that at night time the rooms can get a bit hot , as we had no air conditioning and made it hard to sleep sometimes :(
despite that, I will be back to these appartments, staff are very friendly and helpful with great english

we payed 20 euros a night upgrade for pool view which we got but they could have included a sun bed on our terrace or free use of safe deposit . On speaking to our neighbours they had not had to pay any extra for their room so felt a little miffed to say the least. Overall a lovely clean room with very friendly staff especially pool bar all be it in need of a deep clean or re-decorating. Lovely location and would return but would not pay the extra 280 euros for just the location of the room .

Room Tip: take basics with you
