“Disappointing....”

We love Italian food and have eaten here a couple of times before, the last time was 2 years ago, so went again recently. We were very disappointed this time as my husband ordered Spaghetti Carbonara, but it was so incredibly salty he had to send it back. They replaced it with another one but this was not a lot better. My Lasagne was OK but not that tasty.
The staff were pleasant but really did not seem interested in attending to the customers. There was only about one other table of diners, but nobody came out to us to enquire if the 2nd Carbonara was OK, or if we wanted desserts. They were
just chatting to each other.
As I say it was a shame, as we have enjoyed it there before, but will not go again .

The food was ok, no real concept of good service. Our main course arrived while we were still eating our starters.

Our first night strolling out to look for somewhere to have dinner not knowing the area. Stopped here as getting hungry and it looked inviting with nice table settings. We weren’t disappointed. The food was tasty and well presented and the service quick, friendly and helpful. Not a ‘special meal’ but good all the same.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch. Great traditional Italian food, well presented with friendly staff.

It did take a good 30mins for food to arrive on a quiet lunchtime service, but hopefully that's because dishes are prepared individually rather than a lack of attention.

Tasty food, well worth a visit.. We'll be back before we head home!

Staying in one of the Fort Knox style hotels nearby it was nice to escape, the first time out we came across 'Portofino'! It seemed quite a new restaurant and was empty when we arrived. The menu was fairly extensive for this type of restaurant and covered most Italian style favourites, the wine was reasonably priced as was the food. The food we had was fresh and tasty and the waiters pleasant and friendly. As time went on more people arrived, large families, shop workers, tourists and holiday makers! As it got busier more waiters arrived which will have helped as it was quite a large amount of people for just two being front of house!
We paid a second visit earlier today, the standard and service was exactly the same, two of the larger families that had been there on Friday were also there for a second time, that in my opinion is good recommendation for any restaurant!
