Just returned from our week long first stay at the Bahia princess..
After reading through reports and reviews on this hotel our expectations were quite high.. unfortunately the hotel did not deliver..
On arrival at the hotel our room was not ready, we were ushered to the bar for a complimentary Sangria and a 45 minute wait..
When we arrived at our allocated room 409, we found the room to be clean and in reasonably good order although a little dated decor wise, and with noticble age related wear and in the the bathroom. towels etc changed daily but too small, rough and too thin..
all areas in hotel followed the same path of clean and reasonably well maintained but in need of updating..
3 pools and additional sunbathing areas seem more than addiquate to cover the amount of guests while we were there, but this didn't deter the early bird sunbed hoggers who have to have the same lounger in the same area for the duration of there stay "Quite Sad".. hotel issued pool towels are of pretty good quality and appeared to be reasonably new..
we stayed half board, the breakfast was ok but remained the same choices throughout our stay.. evening meal we tried twice only, as we found the food on offer not to our taste, "gents long trousers for evening meal"
Overall we the hotel isn't doing anything wrong but we don't think the hotel merits the 4 star status it has been allocated..
Things you might want to know.. 19 euro per week for almost unusable very slow WiFi.. Mini bar hire 4 euro per day.. Safe hire 2.5 euro per day.
Bar prices have a day / night rates, although this does appear to be apparent throughout the resort, main building sea facing rooms get the sun until it sets.
All hotel staff friendly and hard working...
Beds comfortable, no ambient noise to affect sleep quality noticed.
Some minor ajacent building work, but hardly noticeable.

Room Tip: Main building 4th floor rooms facing sea.. sun throughout day and sun setting views, end rooms have have large balconies.

Had a fabulous few days with friends at the Bahia Princess. Just amazing. The complex is clean, staff are friendly, food was nice, drink was flowing, pools setting was stunning, particularly the infinity pool. Went to the town on the courtesy bus. Beach was lovely and wandered around a good selection of shops. I want to take my family back here soon.

Flew with Tui from Bristol Airport, no problem with the flight except for the seating was very cramped, unable to pay for a seat with extra legroom.
Really magnificent entrance to the hotel. The reception staff were not very helpful booking us in, usual problem with this hotel you have to pay extra for the wifi, and the fridge, and no tea making facilities.
Rooms were very clean, maybe a bit outdated.
The journey to the restaurant was bit of a trek. Down 2 lifts (8 floors) then a trek about 75 yards. The food was very good, the staff were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. Although we found the menu was a bit repetitive.
There were plenty of pools, and sun loungers available. Poolside activities were amateurish. The aquarobics were OK except the cd kept stopping and needed to be restarted, music should have been continuous until the end of the routine. Several people gave up. The "fun and games" where you could win an ice cream or a cocktail, consisted of trying to bounce a ball into an old dirty Coca Cola crate, proper apparatus is needed. My partner are both oldies, 70's, but it would have been nice to have had some music playing, we were on holiday.
The evening entertainment was ok, if a bit outdated, better off in a holiday camp. Table service was on the ball.
Julie the Tui on site rep was very helpful.
Overall we were quite happy with the hotel.

Prior to arrival we were warned of ongoing work to the adjacent hotel but as we knew that this was almost completed this did not put us off. Upon arrival we were given a room at the front of the hotel but did not have have a good nights sleep because the road outside was busy until after 1am and then again from 5am, (be warned). However the staff at reception were first class and by midday had a room for us overlooking the swimming pool PLUS a bottle of Cava and goodies!
Staff at the hotel are very professional and friendly in all areas and the choice and quality of food in the restaurant is excellent.
We have generally stayed at the sister hotel next door but that has become too busy and noisy whereas the Bahia is more laid back and quieter.
The entertainment was good and of a good mix, Comedy Elvis had me crying!
An excellent hotel and thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Avoid the front of the hotel if you are not used to noise at home
