We stopped here for lunch during our Game of Thrones tour, the service was fast even though we had a very large group of 30+ people. The food was hot and soooo good. I had the burger and soup, my husband had the Lobster Risotto, and several people in our group had the Fish and Chips. All looked equally delicious.

Well where do I start......we won a meal and wine for 2 but didn't claim it for a year and the wonderful proprietor still honoured the prize and gave us a main course each free!
I had a half lobster, it was very small and I recommend ordering a full lobster as its only about 2-3 inches by 1-2 inches for the half, the Thermidor sauce was amazing and the garlic infused potatoes were the best I've ever tasted, my better half had good ole cod and chips which he thought was really good too. We both had dessert( we don't usually) a nice but ordinary sounding apple crumble and homemade custard was anything but ordinary, the crumble had just enough crunch the Apple had a hint of cinnamon and it was encased in a shortcrust pastry base, the custard was served in the smallest cutest copper saucepan and tasted divine creamy, vanilla and frothy, a melon ball sized vanilla (bean) ice cream topped the dish. This was an exquisite fine dining experience which we will treasure, we unreservedly recommend the lobster Pot for a relaxed unhurried( laid back) evening. I am a real foodie and can make a fairly decent meal myself having learned from a mother who cooks and bakes extremely well therefore am quite hard to impress but impressed I was!

I wasn't expecting much, but I ordered the chicken liver pate and the mussels in white wine sauce and enjoyed every bite. So nice to have enough toasts accompany a pate dish for once! The chicken liver pate was in the classic French style - delicious. The sauce that came with the mussels was light and yet slightly creamy - I could have eaten it as a soup. Not too much garlic and not oily, like moules marinere usually are. The mussels themselves were tender, with no grit at all that I noticed. My husband had the potato and leek soup and the beef lasagna, a good change of pace from more traditional local fare. Only downside was that it is a small place, and another party just behind us was speaking loudly, which was very distracting. Also, the service was a little leisurely, but that could have been related to the other table . . . and our desire to get out of earshot.
