Well situated in the centre of the town just before the pedestrian zone. Good clean, comfortable, basic hotel with a good looking pool. Staff are friendly and helpful. Useful map of town with good restaurants marked out. Small balcony but doubt that's where you would spend your time. Breakfast was ok. The inroom safe cost extra. (4 stars as it's the best place in town).

This hotel provided excellent value for money. It is close to the centre with plenty of parking, the breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The receptionists were welcoming & provided a map with restaurant recommendations. We would recommend this hotel & would stay again if in the area. This year was our first night before travelling into the Alentejo region.

We arrived by train for an overnight stay in the Hotel Apolo. Not a very nice thing to say but we weren't expecting much, not only was the town really quite picturesque, with plenty of restaurants a pleasant walk along the riverfront but the hotel also exceeded our expections our receptionist Felipa was delightful, and very helpful. The included breakfast was excellent plenty of choice.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor overlooking the street it had a balcony

This hotel is used as the starting point for an Algarve bicycle tour that I took, but I stayed here a couple of extra days to do some day trips from VRSA. It's nothing special to look at, but don't be put off by it's bland exterior. There is much to like about the Apolo. It is in a great location, an easy walk to the old town, the marina and most everything. There is a market right across the street if you need essentials, as well as a farmacia right around the corner. The staff is outstanding, particularly a young guy whose name I believe is Reynaldo. The room is nothing special, but you shouldn't be in your room! Get out and explore. Go to the lighthouse. Go to the beach. Go to Castelo Marim. Or, if you're tired, go out to their very nice pool. I had a bike, so I didn't ask, but there was a whole fleet of rental bikes out front, so I assume they either rent them directly, or are agents for a local shop. It's a great area to bike around. Good wifi, and a very nice buffet breakfast. All in all, a very good choice!
