We stopped at the Restaurant Les Laves (apparently aka “La Coulee 77”??) for a lunch. This was our second week on Réunion therefore we experienced various restaurants on the island thus were able to compare. We ordered ‘Carri camarons’ and ‘Carri de bichique’ (I hope I spelled them correctly), and both dishes were just perfect!! No joke. Camarons (shrimps) were just outstanding (imagine the biggest king prawn you can get from a good fishmonger in Sussex and multiply it by 3 - so you can estimate the size of these monsters!!! And they are pleasantly chewy and tasty!). The waiters’ English was quite good, service was very pleasant, and appearance of dishes was great. The best food on the island so far (though we have another week!!)
