This is a very nice place. It is right on the beach in Speightstown and offers a reasonably priced menu with a good drinks selection. They have beach loungers for those that wish to have a longer stay.
We had a burger, flying fish (fried) and junior had fish fingers which were basically the same as the fried flying fish but sliced into strips!
The staff were lovely and very happy to accommodate our toddler. High chairs available!

Firstly, the location and the actual restaurant are lovely. It has direct access to a beautiful stretch of beach with loungers and umbrellas and the terrace is situated directly overlooking the beach and ocean. Also, has the bonus of being right next to a John Pugh Trompe L’oeil mural, “Bridge of Tides”
The food was really good, had scallops to start that were cooked really well and well presented, had the shrimp roti and the lamb curry (was OK). Asked for hot sauce and got Tobasco (like there’s not enough hot sauce made on the island that they need to import some!)
The real downer was the staff. Got the distinct impression that they were all fairly new and just my opinion, I guess they rate of pay is not attracting the best staff on offer. They were polite on the whole but very unknowledgeable on the food or menu and they seemed really disjointed in their approach. Three different staff asked to take our order, then we had to ask three times to get more water! Asked everyone about the mural and finally got the answer as we were paying when we met the owner. Shame really as it could be outstanding, maybe we were just unlucky and they were training a new bunch of staff

Great food, enjoyed it so much we went and had the same dish twice. Friendly welcome and great to have the pick up and drop off service.

Where to start with this place. If you only read one part of this review, let it be this:

Never in the world have I finished an entire meal at lunch, before being served my drink.

The good:

Location, absolutely awesome outdoor seating and the beach area is fantastic. The staff that set that up were superb and it comes as part of your lunch or breakfast – which is great value and really handy to include beach towels.

When not too busy, they also offer service beachside for drinks, which was a surprisingly quick service! Also, the food (we had breakfast and lunch) was decent enough, slightly more expensive that the quality you receive – but not outrageously so.

The bad:

Previous reviews have mentioned about the service, which we read before going. A fair point made, that there’s no system in place to record orders etc., which means they are forgotten (EG: our drinks for lunch took nearly 1:30 hours to arrive!) and we asked around 4-times after the hour mark.

Younger staff, although always saying “you’re welcome” are pretty useless when approached about anything. The point is the place is horrendously understaffed, one exceptional waitress was basically serving circa 50 people for the lunch service on her own.

Advice to Management:

Your real problem is the old-fogey, UK ex-pat Mafioso that frequents your establishment. You know the ones, Dave & Linda from Bolton, who’ve lived here for 10-years and visit your place once a week. They remember your name and haircut, to get preferential treatment.

The irony is, with a family of 6 who could visit 4-weeks a year for breakfast and lunch every day, we would probably still out spend them eventually. They’re killing your business! – The potential for this place is incredible, but I imagine you’re only just able to pay the bills.

When two young kids, who still haven’t got their water 1:30 hours in, yet Dave & Linda rock up and get served their cocktail within 5-minutes. You know there’s something fundamentally wrong. Perhaps it’s your regular clientele who need to adapt to “the Bajan way” and wait?!

Conclusion:

Handful of positives, some negatives, don’t regret the visit - but won’t ever go back.
