The hotel is right next to the bohler steel plant so perfect for our trip. A large traditionally built building incorporates a theatre, the whole place is steeped in Austrian history. The room was a single but very clean warm with all amenities and great shower. The restaurant was very welcoming and the staff were friendly professional and the service was great. The food was traditional and reasonably priced.
Would definitely recommend at the price

Hotel dedicated and built by the forging steel maker house just next door. Everything inside remind the steel production. Very nicely decorated also. Rooms are a bit small but worth it for business trip. One bad point is the exterior light which can make night uncomfortable as no curtains and noise of works outside. The restaurant shall be tried, very good food.

Room and the Hotel is OK. However, the location is right at the Gates of the Steel factory. The other side faces the Railway mainline from Vienna to Bruck/Mur-Graz.

Very noisy and therefore you don’t get a good night sleep, despite a comfortable bed.
WIFI intermittent very poor speed when working.
For a so called 4 Star Hotel with no Reception on the weekend and at night.
How can that be? Cannot recommend staying in that Hotel.

Room tip: Sorry cannot recommend any rooms.

Clean hotel with recent refurbished room. My room was really big, as well as the bathroom. I would suggest to choose a room not located on the railway side. Breakfast is ok as well, but not spectacular...

We booked this hotel while in Kapfenberg for a wedding (after it was suggested to us by the groom). The hotel was 'just ok' - the room was large, though a bit empty, the bathroom was really modern and bright (definitely a plus) and breakfast was very varied (it was continental, but with hot items available upon request).
Nevertheless I could not overcome a certain feeling of abandonment. There were probably very few guests staying there because of the off-season period (we were told that the hotel works mainly with the clients of the industries in the area), but the place felt lonely rather than exclusive. We were particularly surprised to find out that the receptionist only worked a few hours in the mornings and that for the rest of the day the place was unmanned. This did not cause us any problems (we were sent a code for the door via email prior to arrival), but we couldn't help thinking what would have happened if our bedroom key hadn't worked at 2 am, as we came back from the party...

We have stayed here 4 times in the last 10 years or so while visiting the area for personal reasons. Each time the renovations seem a little better and the rooms more modern and better equipped.

The service was very good, and the rooms comfortable and spacious. In fact the rooms are so big that they seem inadequately furnished, although there is everything that one needs.

The disadvantage is its location next to a major railway line and next to the Boehler factory, so that it can be quite noisy at all times of the day. With the windows closed this is not a problem, but in the warmer weather, with the window open (in the absence of air conditioning), I would find it difficult to sleep (in our room overlooking the railway line the sound of the trains was loud enough to drown out conversation).

Hopefully in the next round of upgrades in guest services proper air conditioning (not just air circulation and heating) and also free internet will be included.

Room tip: Ask not to be on the railway side of the hotel
