I travel quite a lot and like to stay in areas where the locals live, instead of tourist packed hotels. So I have tried quite a few places!

Well, Kwstas was by far the best host I have met so far... The apartment was nice and clean, with everything you need, and well located - a short walk to the beach. What really made the difference was Kwstas' hospitality: he showed me around Kalamata, brought me fresh fruits, eggs, and even home cooked meals from time to time... The restaurants he recommended were really good - including a small family owned restaurant I ended up eating at almost every lunch that is not too far from the flat (ask him!). Kwstas was always here to help and really added to the experience.

About the place and location: if you want to laze by the beach, you can do everything just walking - there is a small supermarket and bakery close by, and many bars restaurants on the beachfront. If you want to hang out more in the city and go around the great hills around Kalamata (stunning views!), you can either rent a bicycle or a scooter (I chose the latter), or get taxis, they're quite cheap too. And if you don't know what to do one day, just ask Kwstas for a recommendation, he's got you covered :-)
