Scandic Syv Sostre
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Sandnessjoen

This is a large hotel, and seems more aimed at business travellers than tourists. It is directly linked to the newe "culture house" in Sandnessjøen with its library, cinema and conference possibilities as well as an swinning hall with plenty of activities for children. The hotel is, as noted, new, with spacious rooms with all necessary amenities. Rooms facing west have views over the sea and the archipelago, while rooms facing east have views over the mountains called "the seven sisters" (de syv søstre). Staff is professional and smiling. The restaurant focuses on local specialities, presented in a solid (but rather unelegant) fashion. Wine prices are exorbitant, exceeding three times that of the price in the shops, and that comes on top of already high alcohol prices in Norway. Good, but small selection of local beers.

We stayed in a Superior Extra room on the 9th floor, and it was just outstanding. Clean and nice, and what a view! The breakfast was very good and one of the best we have seen in any hotel.
Very friendly and helpful staff, especially in the restaurant. Sandnessjøen is a small town, and the hotel is just in the centre, close to the shops and the Hurtigruten Terminal.
In the same building you now also find the Sandnessjøen Cultural House, with the library and the community swimming pool.
And our Superior Extra room also had supefast Wi-Fi.

Room Tip: Get a room on the seaside, and we recommend the Superior Extra

Rooms are poor equipment. Only 7 tv channels ( nothing for kids, no news channel), dirty windows, no iron, no fridge. Only bed- that's all. Typical equipment for 3 star hotel. On the other hand : one of the best breakfast I have eat in europeans 3 or even 4 stars hotels. Do not recommend this hotel for more than one night.

First, the receptionist told us to wait to get our room (even if we arrived at 14.00), and after that, she just ignored us. After an hour we asked her if our room was ready, which she said it was not. Then, we sat down again and she continued to ignore us. 30 min later, we asked her again, and then, she happened to have a room. Our room was not properly cleaned - it was very dusty and the windows needed a good cleaning. The breakfast was good, but I would not recommend this place.
