This place needs some TLC. The walls are almost bare, more so in the bathroom (not even a hook for the towels), the beds are basic and the floors are very noisy (although in all fairness, the place "warns" you about it in every room. If you're on the lower floor, every step taken upstairs will resonate in your room like a drum.
The location is fine if you want quite, 2 km. from Tobermory proper. The place is nice but the rooms, furniture and above all, the bathrooms, are begging for some upgrades. It feels like the place has not past the 80s yet...

I found the Big Tub Resort very pleasant, quiet and with a very nice scenery. The restaurant was nice but I found it didn't have a wide selection. Our rooms were nice although the beds were very old. Overall we enjoyed our stay, with a few minor fixer-uppers this place is great.

Room tip: Upper rooms are less noisy

Pros:
- clean room daily
- sufficient towels
- relaxing atmosphere
- live band in restaurant Saturday nights
- friendly staff
- decent view of dock, boats, and water.
- sufficient trees for shade
- chicken ceasar wrap was good
- nicely hidden away from main tobermory stores, so noise was very low
- found other guests equally friendly and pleasant to talk to
- nobody will bother you if you want privacy
- excellent patio

Cons:
- windy weather will shake your door often, making it difficult to fall asleep. Though there is little they can do to help with that.
- if you have leftovers from elsewhere and you went to the restaurant and purchased a beer to drink with your food, you will be asked to eat in your room. Ruined the vibe for me being asked to leave with my food in front of all other guests. I had planned to eat dinner there later at night but decided otherwise.
- can hear people talking in next rooms if they talk loud enough. However, i only noticed it only during the day as most guests slept early.

Overall 4/5. Would be 5 had they not removed me over such a minor deal. One would think after paying hundreds of dollars, a peaceful 5min lunch from leftovers would be a non issue.

Save your money, overpriced for the quality of the room, vinyl floor a mess, no flatscreen tv, no micro wave, plain bathroom, small bed and plain
paid 40 dollars less last night for a better room. Have traveled all over the world and this place is not even a 2 star even in Cuba

First off the staff are great, very helpful and accommodating. The resort is beautiful and loved the restaurant and view. Food was very good.
The rooms are a basic room. No AC. no blow dryer or any other product you might need.
There is a fridge with freezer which was very good. Beds were old as were the pillows. Pillows smelt old and very used. Freshen up the rooms and all would be great.
We would go back.

Room tip: Water view is a must.
