Description: The Noah’s Ark sits right on the cricket green in the wonderfully picturesque village of Lurgashall, on the Surrey and Sussex border. It dates back to the 16th century, but has been brought up to date under the ownership of local couple Amy & Henry - with plenty of contemporary touches to the decor and the best of British cuisine. Amy, along with her talented Head Chef, is careful to ensure that the Noah’s sources its ingredients from the very best of local suppliers. This is great for small local businesses, but also ensures that they have the best and freshest seasonal produce for a regularly changing menu and specials board. They are even able to do their own home-smoking, so the menu often features house-smoked meat, fish or cheese. Choose from king prawn, chorizo, and Lurgashall wild garlic linguine with chilli & rocket, or free-range pork belly with Lurgashall apple & sage jelly. There are always perennial favourites such as the homemade burger with Goodwood cheddar As well as the restaurant, The Noah’s Ark Inn is also home to an inviting bar that’s perfect for whiling away the evening, drink in hand. The traditional feel and warm atmosphere provide the perfect setting in which to sample the vast wine menu, including over 20 wines by the glass, or the specially selected local ales. If you want to share your experience with a group, The Noah’s Ark Inn has several choices of dining room and can provide tailored menus to meet the requirements of parties of all sizes and for all occasions.

We stumbled across this quintessential village pub on the green in Lurgashall while on a lovely spring walk. Intrigued by its charm we returned for lunch the next day which turned out to be an excellent decision.

Inside, the pub is very thoughtfully decorated, accentuating traditional features in this lovely country pub.

We shared a scotch egg to start, and then both had the roast beef. Served pink it was perfection on a plate with a hearty side of cauliflower cheese! We couldn't leave without trying a pudding and the vanilla creme brûlée was the perfect finish.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to escape London for a day and looking for the perfect country pub. Generous portions, incredible food and good value! Can't wait to come back.

Had a great lunch here today. Ham hock, celeriac and borlotti bean stew- delicious. My husband had the fish and chips- lovely white fish and very crisp batter with chips and peas.

Arrived really by accident,it does seem to be in the middle of nowhere, beautiful setting in a village overlooking the cricket pitch, quintessential english pub style with tables.Reception was friendly, and courteous. We arrived early, just wanted a light lunch my wife opted for a beef sandwich and I had haddock chowder, both were absolutely spot on,doorsteps of wholesome bread and very generous beef, perfectly cooked moist and delicious, chowder rammed with chunky fish and creamy sauce, fairly priced.House white was great plenty of other options, again fairly priced and decent pint.Nirvana.
This place is exceptional, get there early it was busying up by 13.00 .Menu looked interesting and not too extensive or expensive.Open fires, scrubbed tables as well as slightly more formal tables, doughy sofas, this place has it all.

Lovely cosy pub in quaint setting. Food, we had beef, burger and fish and chips were all excellent, if a little pricey for pub food, but we enjoyed our visit and hope to visit again when in area, when hopefully warm enough to sit outside. Staff very friendly and attentive. Recommended.

Enjoyed a very pleasant Tuesday evening at the Noah's Ark.
The bar where we had our first drink was busy and jolly yet the service was friendly and very efficient.
We had ordered the private dining room in advance for a gathering of friends and found a pleasant, airy room that was warm in decor.
The food was delicious and I had an excellent Haddock and chips.
In all I highly recommend a visit here.
