This is a lovely place to spend an afternoon (when the weather is good) to relax and eat in the lovely garden.
There is an outdoor bar and grill that caters for most tastes.
It's also very dog friendly.
Nip in. You won't regret it.

Having spent the morning walking round Scotney Castle (National Trust), we decided to seek out alternate eating arrangements to those offered by the trust.

We were recommended to try this establishment, by one of the trusts staff. We have ate in other pubs from this group, and have not been disappointed.

As it was a nice day we chose to sit on the patio, reservations are not necessary but if you want to eat outside i would book a table, as the patio filled up very quickly.

The food was excellent; we chose to share a starter, Chicken Parfait, with Brioche and a homemade Chutney.

The starters are large so ideal for sharing.

Mrs C for her main chose Grilled Sardines, off the Specials menu, as this was a starter portion, the waiter offered to ask chef to serve this a main course, which was no problem for the Kitchen

I had the King Prawn linguini, again excellent.

We chose to share a Rhubarb crème Brule for desert, again a large portion, more than enough for two to share.

With drinks and coffee, the total bill came to £53.00, excellent value I thought. Well worth the visit, we will be back.

Also to be commended are the Staff, the guy whom served and dealt with us was Romanian, and his service and attitude were impeccable, a credit to this establishment, well done

Fourteen of us went for lunch, ages ranging from 1 to 65. We had a large table where we were all able to sit comfortably. The staff were attentive although the senior person was a little stressed due to being very busy., and when asked for the specials board was abrupt, which was unnecessary. Catered well for children, with colouring pads.
Menu was quite limited but the food was very good and had no complaints from our party. Wine prices quite expensive for pub environment. Would go again.

Expensive. Nice staff. Very odd stea, which tasted unpleasant. It had not been cooked properly. Not nice. Took it home for the dogs. They'll eat anything!
