Fabulous ! We had a lunch this August 2016 at the restaurant and were extremely happy with the cuisine, the location and the service. The restaurant is located in a very secluded area of Haute Loire, rather scenic and remarkably peaceful. The service was flawless, yet simple and not snooty. More important, way more important, the cuisine was beyond this world: a rare balance of craftsmanship, exploration of tastes and textures and excellence. We were a group of 10, with two children, coming from different places (Zurich, Paris, Washington DC). We had a set menu of 6 courses (including two sequential desserts), preceded by 4 tiny appetizers and concluded with coffee and mignardises, with wine. all of this for less than a $100 per person. The chef is highly inspired by Asian cuisine and sets the bar fairly high, making significant efforts to include some of that into a more traditional French set of items. The result is simply exquisite and we highly recommend this restaurant.

Nous profitons aussi de l'opportunité de cette revue pour encourager toute l'équipe du restaurant à poursuivre leur travail. Nous avons tous été très impressionnés par la qualité du travail. Le résultat est à la hauteur. Bravo!

We spent two and a half weeks in France eating special meals every night and this was one of the best. The restaurant has one Michelin Star but we enjoyed the meal and experience more than the three star restaurant we ate in. The food was simple superb in taste and presentation. Each dish was very special. The service was superb. The chef took the time to come out to talk to each table and we felt very welcome as guests.

The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track in Le Pont D'Alleyras. The area is a big hiking area and the surrounding area is beautiful so there is lots to do. We also stayed in the rooms offered which were more than adequate. We even had a nice little balcony overlooking the river that flows by the town.

We arrived at 11.00 am on the train. There is only one train per day that stops at the small station in the hamlet of Pont D'Alleyras. We went to the hotel to drop off our bags and to ask when our room would be available. We did not expect it to be ready straight away but we did expect a small hotel with perhaps 25 rooms to be able to arrange their cleaning so a room would be available in an hour or two. The receptionist was most dismissive and said the room would be available from 5.00 pm which she later revised to 5.30 pm because the cleaner was on the third floor and our room was on the second. [hate to think how long we would have to wait if we had a room on the first floor.
Luckily the weather was fine an we had an excellent 13km walk through the hills to Moutade and arrived back at 5.00pm.
The receptionist asked a young male colleague to show us to our room. I picked up our two cases and we walked to the lift. The young man did not offer to carry cases. Very poor. This start clouded our view of what could be a very good hotel.
The rooms are new and with good fittings. The bathroom is very modern but the towels were old and rough and the controls for the bath and shower very difficult ti adjust. The double comprises two single beds pushes together but the slippery floor means transfer from one to another is difficult as the beds move apart.
There is only one tub chair to relaxing.
The resaurant is one michelin start with prices starting at 70 euro. We did not eat there but eat next door and a scruffy bar - with very nice simple menu and pleasant owner (Saryella - book in advance - cosed monday).
The breakfast was 15 Euro - It was served by a waitress and was nothing special - but highish price. Any cooked to order item was at extra cost.
The area is beutifil.

The cooking here is exciting, full of unexpected combinations of taste and texture, all executed with skill and panache. We had a great dinner, taking the 'printemps' menu which took fresh local raw materials and combined them in delicious ways. The restaurant has one Michelin star and 3 Gault Miillau
toques and is fully worthy. The service is also of a high standard and the wine list shows real interest and knowledge, and includes a selection from outside France.
