This was our second trip to Manley Mere.
Arrived late morning on bank holiday Monday and got into grid lock in the car park. So not a great start. They eventually opened another car park area up but not until after about a dozen or more cars got in a predicament. Thankfully could drive the 4x4 onto a bit of a bank and left it there until quieter when could actually move.
The location is lovely, nice place to picnic, watch the water sports and aquapark activities.
Bought our tickets from the shop - long disclaimer which you can't really read unless you want to waste half your day! Basically everything's at your own risk. I sort of feel once you've signed this it means little effort is then made for it to be safe. No staff at all on the trail and we didn't take mobiles in at risk of them getting wet, and some obstacles roped off in a half hearted sort of way! Didn't show our tickets on entering the trail as teenagers in the shop looked very disinterested - could of walked in without paying!
The trail is fun, challenging and to be honest the kids love it and we had a fun and muddy day. There are a few heart in mouth sort of moments but you get used to the risk level as you go around.
Facilities wise the toilets were very dirty and 3 of each for the volume of people visiting really isn't enough. No lock on the door or soap to wash hands.
Also one of our bug bears when visiting local attractions is that they don't stock local ice cream. Kelly's of Cornwall is being sold in Cheshire - a dairy county with loads of fab ice cream producers. Support local businesses please.
We we will no doubt visit again as it's fun but I do think it could be improved upon.
