Such a nice Hotel to those who like sun bathing and beach party. Nice and tidy room, just the toilet was abit dissapointed. Very convenience location. Just walking distance, you can reach the Chaweng road. Nice breakfast serve and breakfast serve until 11am. Is good for those who want to wake up a bit late.

I stayed in the ark car at the beginning of October. I was abit reluctant to stay here after seeing the pictures on trip advisor. But the rooms have just been redone in the new part and our room was nothing like the photos on here. It was lovely there Was plenty of room, really clean, bathroom was very modern with a built in shower. The hotel has 3 pools, 2 quieter ones and one party pool where there are party's on Wednesdays and Fridays. Perfect for young people looking for a lively holiday OR a relaxing one. The hotel had its own part on the beach where there were sun loungers for the day time and then they were turned into tables on a night so that hotel guests and anyone else could visit for a drink or food on the beach. The hotel was always busy with daytime and evening music. I will defiantly be returning to Koh Samui and i will 100% be staying in this hotel.
During our stay in Koh Samui we came here on two separate nights. The music is pumping and the bar is packed full of people (mostly 18-25 yr olds) dancing and drinking the night away. There are fire twirling and fire spinning shows on the beach which are awesome to see at night. The drinks and cocktails are priced okay and the bar has a great atmosphere if you're looking for a big night out. This is by far one of the best bars to head to in Koh Samui as you are almost guaranteed a great night out. The staff are friendly and the service was great. I wasn't too phased by the street sellers, they are just trying to make a buck....but it was funny to see the guys carrying the lizards and dragons and watching the girls freak out when they were unknowingly placed on their shoulders.
Only ate the restaurant, but the food was great and fresh, reasonably priced and good cocktails. Staff also provided aeroguard as we were being eaten alive with sand flies and mosquitoes!
The only negatives i have is the staff stood at our table the whole time and made us feel very uncomfortable my friend didnt realise and turned around to look for someone and actually face planted the girls stomache, thats how close she was! Also the people trying to sell things would actually come up to our table while we were eating and talking and try and get us to buy or to hold animals! very annoying.
Great view and would go back for the food and view!
Stayed in the ark bar in July 2012. Honestly, first impressions were not great. Reception was a bit dingy and the rooms looked bleak. However as I had booked a suite, I was accompanied to the other side of the resort which was much nicer! Even the walk way was wider and cleaner! Room was lovely, as were the staff. The swimming pool was relaxed, by the beach, and for a solo traveller, a great place to meet people! The hotel restaurant and bar was also a very cool place with a very relaxed atmosphere. My advice to anyone over 25 though would be to make sure you take a suite as apposed to a standard room, as the standard part of the hotel was a haven for 18-25 year olds!!! Rooms further away from the beach are also advisable if you are looking for a more relaxed stay because the music from the bar can be heard until the early hours!
Staff were lovely and if I was to ever return to that side of the world, would definitely return!!!
Although we didn't stay in the hotel, we constantly went to the beach-side bar / restaurant for food and drink during our 18 day stay. In Samui, there isn't a better place to go if you want a good view, good service and want to listen to great music. Every afternoon, they have a DJ playing amazing music... then it gets even better when a guy joins him and sets up his drums. I'm 44 and this place took me back to my crazy 20 party years. I bought 4 CD's from the bar. This place is great and fun... but caution - don't play Connect Four with the young Thailand girls... They are wickedly good.
