We entered Khaw Glong to the sound of 'Eye of the Tiger' pumping from the Thai Boxing advertising cars that patrol Chaweng. Like a Thai boxer, Khaw Glong swings a huge knockout punch in one so small with great skill. Like a great exponent, it shows huge respect for its art and therefore its customers. We were given a warm welcome and made to feel comfortable in this cool, clean and compact restaurant. We ordered a selection of classics, of which every item was as good as it gets. A special mention goes to the Pad Thai which was possibly the best I can remember ever eating, as ive been eating them for about 30 yrs. Stunning Green Curry too. The bill was (g)astronomically small for the quality of food we got. Obviously, theres lots of other great Thai cuisine in this area and it might seem a little unadventurous of us but we will return there within the next few days when we crave another Thai dinner. Whoevers' philosophy is behind this place, has either really done their homework, maybe even having experience outside of Samui or even Thailand, or is one of the worlds natural and gifted masters of their craft which has also been passed on to the waiting staff and certainly the cooks. . Cant wait to return. Come to think of it, its been two days and I cant think of a good reason why we dont go tonight! Khob Khun Krap!
