After coming to The Angel for their generous and tasty full English, (which I thoroughly enjoyed) we visited again on Easter Sunday for lunch.
The Angel has been lovingly decorated and is run extremely well. The service we experienced was very professional and the attention to detail first class. The Angel even has its own farm where they produce their own pork and lamb in idyllic surroundings.
We had a delicious roast dinner served with unlimited roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. The beef and the pork were delicious as was the fresh vegetables and the gravy. We were too full for desert but had a coffee to finish. We will be back. Just wish we lived nearer.

Went with 4 colleagues last week on their recommendation and it was a fantastic experience.

We only had lunch so no starters or desserts but all 5 main courses were very well received. We had to wait a while for the lamb cutlets but the excellent waiter explained that they would take a little longer than normal as everything is cooked from fresh. Also good to hear their meat is sourced from their own farm - reassuring in times when so many animals are mistreated just to keep food cheap.

All washed down with decent selection of cask ales.

Setting lovely and nice touches of history dotted around the historic building.

Nothing to fault and will return when next in town.

Seem to put mustard on everything, spoil salad with putting mustard dressings all over them. Chunky chips are excellent, coleslaw is horrible as too chunky and hard. Tables are often not clean and service can be slow at times.

I will forward all your comments on to the kitchen team. I joined the family for a breakfast, it was a very comprehensive menu. I chose kippers, well one small kipper as I declined the poached egg with it. The other breakfasts ie full English looked very good. My kipper was cooked well and very enjoyable just wish it had said kipper not kippers!

We ate here for dinner on a Friday evening. As foodies we thought we would try out their menu. A really nice feature here is the produce that comes from their very own farm! Pretty good touch. The steaks were nicely presented, tender and quite good value. The half desert, with a coffee offer was a nice end to the meal.
