Mainly because Freiburg was fully booked we choose to stay in Bad Krozingen, but also because of the nearby thermal spa complex. The staff is superfriendly and explains everthing: walking distance to train station, where you can catch the halfhourly train to Freiburg city, with the KONUS card the ride is free! Points of interest in lovely Bad Krozingen, Restaurants and wellness options. So while there is no meal option included, everything else is perfect. There are a lot of restaurant/bakerys that offer breakfast. A good option to visit Freiburg city without the traffic and parking hassle. On the downside: the 15 min. walk to the train station is generally no problem, but at night, the passway following the small river is kind of spooky. Hard to find parking space in the evening around the promise. But not a big deal.

Room Tip: There are two rooms with balcony facing south, you just have to climb the stairs.

The rooms were spacious and staff was very friendly. On the top of this the apartments have very nice garden and patio were you can spend time outside your room. Unfortunately, we were busy visiting Freiburg and did not enjoy the place enough.

We stayed 7 nights at Appartements Biedermeier in 2 bedroom family apartment and like it very much. Very good price for value, it had everything we needed. Would recommend this place to everyone. But you need a car if you want to stay there. Otherwise, location is good. we visited Black Forest (up to Heidelberg), France (up to Strasbourg), Switzerland (up to pilatus) and so on...
The only small problem was with communication, Michael (the owner) speaks perfect English, but his mother (who usually sit at reception in the morning) doesn't speak at all.

Room Tip: The family 2 bedroms apartment was perfect for us

What a great place to stay. Rooms have everything: A kitchen, A balcony, satellite tv, free WIFI and many more. And the owners are very friendly and helpful. There is also a community living room in the house. And what about the nice garden! And on arrival you are given a Konus Pass which is good for free use of public transport in the area between Pforzheim and Basel! The only downside is that the house is quite far from the city centre and the railwaystation. The nearest supermarket (REWE) is a 15 minutes walk so a bike or a car might be handy. Remember the house doesn't serve meals so buy your food and use the kitchen. I stayed 8 nights and i Paid 240 euros which is excellent value!

My girlfriend and I spent 11 days in Bag Krozingen at the Bidermeier in August 2008 and we are very happy.

The apartment we rented was about 6x4 meters, had a large room, a small kitchen, a bathroom and a big balcony facing a large garden with a brook.

The main room had two queen size beds, a very large wardrobe, a table, sofa and armchair. A telephone and a large TV set (with satellite channels) were available in the room, along with a fast Internet connection with free access for guests. The kitchen had a fridge and everything you need to cook breakfast and meals (you just need to bring your food). The bathroom had a shower and was very clean. The balcony could be used to eat meals or just to relax.
Room cleaning is made at the end and in the middle of the sojourn. It's included in the price paid.

A fitness room with very modern and new equipment was available to guests free of charge. There was everything you need to keep in shape: stepper, rowers, treadmills.. A sauna was available too for an additional fee.

The landlord was very professional and kind; he gave us a free bottle of typical local wine and a local mineral water.

The position is excellent because it's close to the thermal baths "Vita Classica" or because you can easily explore the area around (Alsace, Black Forest, Freiburg..). The surroundings of the building are very quiet. A very good supermarket open 8-22 / Mo-Sat is at walking distance.
