We stayed at Villa Cefala for several nights; we wanted a location near Palermo and other important sites, and in an agriturismo, rather than a traditional hotel. The property consists of the original Villa (which serves as the main building for dining and party venue) and several new adjoining buildings (where the rooms are). The grounds are extensive, however, it appears that it is not really an active farm, but more of an estate with a lot of trees. Our room (a duplex) was large, but the furniture and fixtures were quite dated and in need of some maintenance. The breakfast offered a wide variety of foods, breads and pastries, typical of other agriturismos we have visited. The staff is friendly and helpful, the owner appears to live on site. The local commuter train is behind the villa and the passing trains are clearly heard (although they do not come around too often). The Villa is on the main local road in the area , making travel to Palermo and other sites by car easy. Other agriturismo may offer a much more authentic farm feel that Villa Cefala. Although Villa Cefala is acceptable, there may be better choices depending on what the traveler is seeking.More
