Driving from Orlando to Miami International Airport we were looking to have lunch somewhere, before catching our flight.
Doral was close by and we found La Fontana searching Google. Liked the pictures and decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did!
The restaurant is in a commercial strip and it looks like a regular place from outside.
As soon as you walk in …. You can see that it is not.
The “company” started in 1980 and it spans 3 generations.
The dining area is not very big and it’s cozy, it has that “cantina” feel to it, a family run business.
Everyone was very polite and friendly. It felt more “informal” than you regular “chain” restaurants.
It was lunch and the place was not packed so service was spot on. Cannot comment on how it would be for dinner.
But how would be food be ……. It was amazing! They have a few homemade pastas and you can tell the sauce is homemade.
We had 5 different dishes, and the 5 were great.
Dessert was great as well, and the coffee was just right.
After we finished I understood how they’ve been in business for almost 40 years.
If you are in the area, try this place, I think you might like it.
Next time I’m in Miami, definitely going there again.
