We like visiting museums on trips and we were with a group of friends for a 30th birthday. Train ride was easy from Nørreport near the centre of Copenhagen to Humlebæk and then a 10 minute walk (easily signposted). Fantastic collection of paintings, ceramic and sculptures (Picasso, Henry Moore, Lichtenstein and a great visual installation by Yayoi Kusama to name a few). The grounds are also lovely to wander as the museum is on the seafront. Only criticism is that a student card only reduces the entrance fee from 115 to 110 Kr! Definitely worth the effort to visit.

This museum, which is a 25 minute train ride from Copenhagen, attracts art lovers who are willing to make the effort to go to a special place to see a great modern art collection in a beautiful location. So glad that a friend recommended it.

This is highclass from the building itself, the view, the exhibitions. The collection of Giacometti thrills me as well as the room with Asger Jorns paintings.

If only they opened their doors a little earlier! We thoroughly enjoyed the great collection, well designed galleries, and variety of spaces and exhibitions. Excellent store and cafe, excellent auditorium and children's classroom.

I had never heard of this museum before going to Denmark and was taken there with a student who was living in Copenhagen. It is an easy train ride and then a short flat walk through a residential area to this unique museum. Whether one is a contemporary art fan or not, the location and the museum structure itself are worth the visit. One starts in a traditional looking house and then one enters the new space which is circular in structure and has a lot of glass so one is looking out at sculptures as well as viewing art inside. Unfortunately the day we were there it was raining so we could not enjoy the outdoor area but it is on the sea and there are a lot of sculptures outdoors as well. The cafeteria is halfway around the museum so it is a perfect respite along the way and the gift shop is quite large with clothing and home design items. A great treat, you will surely be "the first kid on your block" to have made this visit.
