We spent the night at Sani Lodge and definitely got more than we bargained for. Exceptionally friendly staff assisted in sorting out a problem at the border. We were made to feel relaxed and comfortable the second we arrived. Staff are always smiling and we found the service to be very quick and efficient. The fire in our room was kept well stoked and stocked and we were very warm and comfortable. Thank you to Brian and all the staff there for the fantastic job that they do! Truly an experience to recommend. Keep it up!!

Although we booked well in advance, the only rooms available were in the backpackers section, as a large 4x4 tour group were paling through.
We went for the full board option, which was exceptionally reasonable. The buffet dinner and breakfast were extensive, tasty and of a high quality. Morning eggs made perfectly to order is a great way to start the day!
Although quite chilly mid summer, the restaurant was cosy and we shared a table as the place was pleasantly packed to the rafters.
The wine menu is unique in that there isn't one - all the wines are on display on the wall and clearly priced - you just go pick what you want - easy!
Although disappointed that there were no cancellations so we could upgrade to the better accommodation, we really enjoyed the backpackers, which is located a short walk from the lodge. The rooms were private, comfortable and spacious. The shared ablutions were a bit tricky once the power was out, but all part of the experience!
We'd certainly recommend the backpackers!

We stopped for lunch at the pub as part of the Sani Pass tours day trip. The service was very efficient and we all enjoyed the Basotho lamb stew. This was delicious and the portion size was very generous. We also enjoyed some gluhwein and nice coffee. The prices were reasonable. Very spectacular views when the weather is good. Curio shop is very overpriced unfortunately. Overall a very nice place to stop

Sani Mountain Lodge was our absolute saviour! We had planned to drive from Sehlabathebe National Park to Sani Pass and back into South Africa but terrible roads meant our trip was much longer than expected and we didn't make it to the border post in time. We arrived at Sani Mountain Lodge at around 8pm and although there were no rooms available for us, Brian and his staff were incredibly helpful as they put mattresses on the floor of a conference room, organised a gas heater, a warm shower and a late dinner! We were so grateful to everyone involved in helping us feel at home and will definitely be back soon (hopefully in time to get our own room!)

After a grueling heart pumping breath taking ride up Sani pass the reward of this gem is so worth it. The views are as far as the eye can see the air seem so clean and has a bit of chill but nothing beats those pub meals and beers to make sure that homely feel is brought right back to your memory. Epic bucket list thing to do!
