Live the dream, as this place is stunning, whatever room you are in you will not complain about the view. Mike welcome us as we were staying here 2 nights and showed us to our room, look well presented and comfortable until he opened the curtains, that was it, I knew then it will be hard to leave a view like we had, it was MAGNIFICENT. We had included in our booking for breakfast and dinner, which was amazing and the staff all very friend and helpful. A bonus to this place is that of a night once the moon has gone down and have clear skies you can see the Milky way from the backyard, which I could of slept outside for that. This is the BEST place to stay at Lake Pukaki and we will be back for another visit in the future.
Thank you so much Mike and Anna.

Room Tip: All rooms have Amazing view depending on the weather.

Somehow I stumbled on the tripadvisor listing for Lakestone Lodge when planning our 3 week trip to NZ and was so taken by the pictures and reviews that the entire trip was planned around our stay there. It was a smart move on my part because it was such an incredible experience. The property is located at one end of Lake Pukaki on a bit of a hill. On a clear day you look out over the baby blue waters of the lake to Aoraki/Mount Cook and you feel that someone has put a postcard in front of your face. The room was clean, modern, luxurious and very private with that million dollar view. We were fortunate to be able to have dinner at the Lodge both nights and it was truly chef prepared cuisine. Chef Steffen prepared a 3 course vegan meal for us that was as beautiful as it was delicious. Breakfast was equally incredible. Our first night there was clear enough for Mike to take us on a night sky tour. A short walk from the lodge hammocks were set up and we lay back and looked at the sky. Mike is very knowledgeable about astronomy which added to the experience. I am still amazed about how many satellites I saw moving across the sky. The people who work there - Mike, Anna, Steffen, and the others take graciousness to another level. Our next trip to NZ will have to be planned around another stay at Lakestone Lodge.

What a wonderful place ! My wife and I stayed in the lodge one night, the view is magnificent! I’m sure the lodge is the best place to stay at Lake Pukaki.

The most impressed us is that the milk way galaxy, you can see it clearly at the yard.

Otherwise, We have a unforgettable experience here, the hosts are very hospitable, and the staffs are also very nice. The only regret is that we can’t stay longer here! We can’t wait to come back here!!!

Thank’s Mike and Anna!

This boutique hotel offers sensational , everchanging views of Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook. Extremely comfortable accommodation. Beautifully prepared meals if required making full use of the local fresh produce including salmon and venison.Very reasonably priced. A tightly knit staff ensures a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Plenty of activities in the area to choose from including hiking, bike riding, flights and salmon farms. A very relaxing way to enjoy this beautiful region of New Zealand.

Room Tip: All rooms offer comfort and glorious views.

Thank you Anne A. We love watching the view changing each day from peaceful to stormy and dramatic as it has been the past couple of days. I am pleased you managed to catch a glimpse of Mt Cook.

This jewel of a lodge in the Mount Cook area is truly special. It only has 6 rooms with each having an incredible view of the lake and Mount Cook. The dinner and breakfast menu is the real experience that makes this lodge so unique. My dinner with venison medallions was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. Each course was also beautiful and artistic in presentation. Can't say enough about staying here if you are in the area.

Wow thanks you so much Dougiefres1. That is a huge compliment to our chefs. We are pretty lucky to have them on board given our semi remote location.
