WOW, very warm greeting from the owner and the place has EVERYTHING you need. If you forget it, don’t worry this place will have it there. The location is great for visiting all that must be seen in The Lakes. Fantastic views from the living room. Very clean and warm even when we stayed (the coldest Easter on record). Great walks around the Barn and the dog loved it. If you go into the fields around dusk you will see dear. Open fire was very cosy. Inside all the walls are painted white and floors wooden, this may put some off as it could look cold and clinical, but we welcomed it. We looked at other rental cottages and they looked dated and grotty, this does not. It does have old beams that do give it a nice feel though. Only problem we had been sleep. Boiler is very noisy and we ended switching it off overnight, so was a bit cold. Double bed was noisy and felt like it was going to collapse, I checked it on the fourth day and every bolt was loose. Alan keys soon fixed it. Main problem was the pillows. We usually take our own, but forgot. They are very flat. Soft and within the first night we all had neck pain. This got worse within the 7 nights and we suffered for a few days after we arrived home. Small moans and the place is fantastic. We will go again, even more so for the food at The Farmers Arms. Owners are fab, place is fab, location is fab… just book!! Wi-fi would be great IN the Barn, pub has it free, but would have been great to access it in the cottage.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your stay at The Barn.
We have spoken to the owners who have confirmed that they have acted upon the points that you have raised.
We confirm that the boiler has been serviced and there have been no further complaints regarding noise. Extra duvets and throws are provided as well as some firmer pillows to cater for all weathers and tastes. The owner apologises if the bolts on the bed had worked loose, apparently "loosening bolts" is a common problem with metal-framed beds like this. The owner has undertaken to check the bed on a regular basis now that she is aware of this.
The owner hopes that they will be able to welcome you back to the property in the future and have added in addition, in response to the recent heat-wave, extra outdoor furniture, allowing more flexibility for "al-fresco" dining or, simply enjoying the view!
