Friendly host, the cabins had all the little extras for cooking like condiments sauces oils, really handy to finish off your meal. It was lovely to have bacon and eggs there for breakfast. Very comfortable, highly recommended

My wife and I had the pleasure of a four night stay in the Chintock Studio Cottage at this quiet little place. The accommodation was comfortable and the catered package was interesting for the inclusion of local produce. The setting beside the river (with kayaks for those who don't mind cold water) was magical. It was all capped off with the private outdoor spa/bath. Our hosts looked after our few needs without effort and made us feel special.

Thank you Terry. How delightful to know that you were made to feel "special"! I think that is what a short break should be..relaxing and special. Have an enjoyable Easter long weekend. We hope to see you here again.

We had a glorious 2 night stay in the fontock cottage. It was absolute bliss. The cottages are lovely - simple but extremely comfortable, private and romantic. The beds and pillows were wonderful. Very cosy robes and lovely linen. We really enjoyed hiding away in the cottage. Though they are close to each other, they are very private so once inside you feel completely alone. The spa out the back was also amazing (and very private). Lovely to peek out through the garden to the alpacas. Graham and Christine were really helpful, relaxed and friendly. They had some great tips for local activities and food and were really warm. I have been raving about this place to anyone who will listen and hope we make it back soon!!

Room Tip: Fontock is one of the private spa cottages, highly recommend

A Perfect "Ten", and my wife of 51 yrs was with me!
- Delightfully quiet back-country hilly setting next to a wooded river with rapids.
- Access is via a well maintained 1K dirt road from the village of Branxholm.
- The cabins command wonderful views while maintaining privacy and river access.
- The units are rustic, yet well equipped, heated, and ventilated.
- Included are a full kitchen, table for four, a couch, a comfy queen-sized bed, and a TV.
- The bathroom is modern, spacious, well lit and ventilated, and lit with super-hot water,
- All cabins have a peaceful sitting areas; at least two have large private spas.
- The owners, Graham and Christie, are absolutely delightful.
- I biked the 25K rail trail from above Branxham to Scottsdale.
- It was also fun biking the village streets, and up the valley on the little road that passes the saw mill.
- There is a neat coffee shop, as well as a small hotel with an amazingly broad and yummy menu,
- What a friendly location; Graham has a map marked up with the local fishing areas (streams and ponds).
- The best time to see the platypus family just below the cabins was in the early morning.
- If you are into hydro and solar power, and their economics, Graham is your man.
- The mountain-bike trails 7K away at Derby are SUPER; check out their reviews.
- If you are into tin mining and early education, do not miss Derby's school-house museum.
- Our cabin was Fon Hock, a studio spa with a the usual great view, plus extra shade.

Thank you for your detailed review! We are pleased (and relieved) that you enjoyed your stay with us. It was enjoyable to share a BBQ with you and get to know you a little during your extended stay here. I hope the remainder of your trip around Tasmania is as much fun. Travel safely. Kind regards from Christine, Graham and James (your hosts).

Simply the most enjoyable place I have ever stayed! Perfectly quiet location & the owners are lovely people too. I cannot fault Tin Dragon Cottages, we planned on doing other things but the place was so relaxing we decided to just stay and explore.
Cheers
