We never usually go back to the same place twice but this place is the exception. After last years wonderful vacation here, we decided to return. Oh so glad we did, felt like a family reunion.
We were picked up from the airport by car, arranged through hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Penelope and the owner Kostas and what a warm welcome. The cold mythos and overlooking the pool and beach was just perfect. What a view and great start to the holiday.
We were shown to our garden view room, our luggage, which we hadn't seen since the airport was waiting for us. Within a few minutes, Yiannis arrived with buck fizz and a lovely platter of fruit, ice cream and pastries. They definitely know how to welcome you here.
Our room was a split level studio type on the ground floor with all mod cons...air con, wifi and even a menu of different pillows for your comfort. A lovely letter was personalised for us which welcomed us back to delfino along with a fruit basket and wine, just sheer class.
The hotel is split into several levels from the accommodation/restaurant area down to the pool area with kids pool and a pool bar with a comfortable lounge. Great for cocktails after dark made by another Yiannis. There are plenty of luxury loungers and even a couple of four poster beds to bathe. On this level too is a small gym.
Next level is adults only, a spa/decking overlooking the beach. We hung out here most days. The loungers are mostly double beds with a pram canopy, so comfortable. This is such a beautiful area to spend your sunny days.
Below the decking area is the Mango beach bar, directly on the beach. Spent our lunch here to cool down from the hot sun. The food and drinks are excellent, very tasty with the staff being so friendly. There is where Emmy, Mario and cappuccino Yiannis hang and look after you very well.
The beach area is lovely, the sand and shallow waters are just perfect. When you arrive at your beach lounger, you are presented with ice bucket and bottled water, amazing service.
Breakfast is served overlooking the pool. The variety on offer is amazing, it's buffet style, so it's help yourself and as much or little as you want. If you want bacon, eggs sausage or fresh baked bread to homemade yogurt and honey, freshly squeezed fruit juice to cereals and cheese and cold meats and of course Yiannis cappuccinos with his froth designs on top. The wait staff are on hand and are always willing to help out. Kostas is always available to make sure everything runs smoothly as it always does.
Evening meal in the restaurant was very very good and again the staff Emmy, cappuccino Yiannis and Christos provided great service. The highlight of the evening except for cocktail Yiannis concoctions at the bar was the sunset, different every evening, breathtaking.
All in all this is an outstanding boutique hotel with just fifteen rooms and spotlessly clean but it's Kostas and his staff which definitely make this special piece of paradise. Amazing, even so the guests just keep coming back.
We met couples who were here last year at the same time as us. Many have been coming for over ten years and I can see why. I'm sure we will see them again next year as we have already booked.
