This villa is well situated with great views over the countryside.
It is well arranged and comfortable.
9 of us, ranging from age 4 to age 70, just love this Villa. It has everything you could possibly want. Hire a car and you can go anywhere. Stay at the Villa and it's the most perfect place to relax and chill out.
The pool is the best for all ages we've ever had and was loved by a 4 yr old who learned to swim there, a 6yr old who learned to swim underwater, and a 16 yr old potential triathlete as well as grandma who insisted on her 7am swim in the beautiful warm water. It was kept spotlessly clean by the villa owner and his daughter who are just lovely people.
The housekeeping was fantastic. Everything spotless and towels/bed linen changed every three days. Villa Kokkini is the best appointed Greek Villa we have used - a wonderful big outside BBQ, perfectly sited on a hillside with incredible views and high enough to miss any mosquitos. The appliances are Meile and Bosch - so no cheap shoddy stuff here.
We may be shooting ourselves in the foot by telling you about it because you may book it before we can for next year, but for peace and quiet it's wonderful. You can get into Corfu Town in 20 minutes by car, 10 minutes to the lovely little village of Pelekas with a fantastic 360 degree panoramic view from the ruins above the village at Sunset Inn, and between 10 and 25 minutes from beaches of all kinds, sandy or shingle, crowded or secret. We hired boats for the day to reach those coves you can't get to by road.
Go to the roundabout at the village, turn right and drive for about a mile. There's a butcher on the right who excels in all meats. His sausages are incredible, his lamb perfect and his poultry, well, you can't get fresher than we saw ours arrive still alive and clucking in a wagon.
Or if you want to eat out, well there are many restaurants within 5 - 20 minute drive.
One day we found a huge dish of figs laid out for us on our table, on another Makis showed me how to prepare Prickly Pear, which I'd never eaten before - and when we left, it was with a gift of bottles of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from their own trees. Will we be going back? Of course we will. And it will be the first place we have ever returned to in 12 years of family holidaying.
It DID help that the weather was amazing every day, and that the view is amazing from the outside eating terrace if you just want to sit and let the stress slide off and roll down the hillside.
Negatives? Well, it's a very steep drive up to the Villa, so if you're on foot it's a work out. But I always used the hire car and the young'uns used the drive for fitness training. Not much of a negative at all, is it?
