Overall, we are very happy with our stay at the Bayview apartment of the Luz Beach Apartments. We stayed there for one week and there were four of us (two adults, a 3yo, a 1yo).

The Bayview apartment is a bit larger than the actual beachfront apartments, with two bedrooms, and was perfect for us. Our 1yo slept in the provided travel cot and our 3yo slept in one of the single beds. The apartment itself is about a 5 min walk up the hill from the beach. This is further than the apartments which are in an amazing location, but ours still had a fantastic view, even a better view, and to be honest 5 minutes is more than close enough!

A couple of negative issues:
- The Baroca restaurant across the road played live music on Saturday and Sunday night, which was audible through the closed windows and (metal) blinds. A little disruptive.
- The reception office was empty when we arrived at 2pm on a weekday afternoon. The man who answered the emergency phone number they left on the door didn't even seem to think this was a problem or a big deal and was no use at all. Fortunately, the reception staff arrived back so I just ended the call. An inauspicious start!

Thankfully, the reception staff (Colette and Claire) who we actually met and who were there the rest of the time we stayed at the beachfront apartments were fantastic, always ready to help help with issues ranging from "I think I've lost my wallet" to "What restaurants should we go to?" to "Where can we take our children to play in Lagos?". Additionally, there's no need to bring beach toys or books as the reception area has an enormous box of toys and a cupboard full to the brim with all kinds of books.

Luz itself is a wonderful town. Having stayed at resorts elsewhere in the past, our experiences here have converted us also to staying in these kinds of apartment complexes. Having a kitchen you can cook in is great, and the infrastructure of a town - shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars - is right on your doorstep. We found it to be a much richer experience and just as easy as staying in a full or partial board resort.

Room Tip: Bayview apartment is great for families

This is a great beachside apartment complex. ...steps from the beach and restaurants with amazing views from the balconies. The apartment is a split level with the bedroom and bathroom on one floor and a living room and kitchenette on the second. The apartment would sleep a family of 4. It also has two balconies. ..one on the main floor with chairs and hammock and one upstairs with a view if the beach.

We have just returned after 10 days in this little gem of a place and resort. Luz in October was brilliant with warm sunshine and daytime temperatures of 26 - 27 on 80% of the days. Sea was warm enough to allow swimming though first dip was always chilling. Quiet resort with good choice of restaurants.

Coming to the apartments, very little more to add than what has already been said. Their website gives an in depth review of the layout. The layout of the apartments are well thought out making optimal use of the space yet managing to maintain privacy. It would be fair to say that if there are loud inconsiderate guests then it would spoil the ambience of the place. However this establishment attracts considerate and well behaved clientele and throughout our stay it was very quiet.

We booked directly with the luz beach partments and all online payments were secure and confirmation expeditious. Colette was very professional and helpful and always went the extra mile to help her guests. I can see why guests return to this place and we would definitely consider returning to Luz and Luz Beach Apartments.

Room Tip: Sea view apartments have more privacy than sea front apartments.

Although tempted to keep the Apartments to ourselves , we thought it was only fair to tell spread the word!
They are in a unique position, with brilliant views to the ocean & the beautiful hills to the east.
The accommodation is excellent, very clean & good quality.
Claire & Colette, who manage the properties, are always keen to help organise & advise us regarding any local activities, restaurants, etc and will go the extra mile to help us enjoy the holiday.

Great stay, perfect location. Well appointed apartment (had beach front one) with uninterrupted views of the beach. Easy to get to Lagos (bus) for more places to eat. Staff friendly and helpful, cannot praise them enough. We will be back!!
