“Good Friday fish & chips”
Review of Saltburn Pier

Saltburn Pier
Reviewed 2 April 2018 via mobile

We visited the restaurant on the pier. It was the best fish & chips, we've had for a long time. Mushy peas & tartar sauce were spot on. The service was so very good, considering how busy they were. We gave a little top. We have eaten at the take away many times, but eating in was a treat. We will visit again.

Visited during the most awful snowy gale after a lovely fish and chip supper.

Freezing horizontal snow, high winds and dark sky's. ....... wonderful!

A visit to Saltburn pier is a must. It is the last pier remaining in Yorkshire.
When the first railways brought tourists to Saltburn in 1861, a pier construction company was set up just six years later.
The resulting 460m (1500ft) pier was opened in 1869. But today, due to damage caused by storms & neglect, it now stands at 208m in length.
Tourists can pay for parking down by the beach in one of the two car parks, or during the main seasons, come down from the town in the Funicular cliff lift (for a small fee), which was first opened in 1884.
The pier has an amusements arcade at its front, and the area has many amenities for food, drinks and leisure.
