I booked a table here for Easter Sunday and on arrival I was informed my manager on duty that no table reservations were made in my name.
She then said take a seat in the area near windows.
We sat down ordered food and had waited thirty minutes before food arrived.
I had roast beef and cabbage, the meat was chewy and cabbage was bland and also chewy.
My O/H had chicken tenders and tasted them they were cold, he called manager over and said to her, which she then unprofessionally stared to touch food in front of us and said oh yes some are hot and some cold then went got fresh ones made up, so he had wait another fifteen minutes.
The waitress we had was lovely and helpful.
Won’t be returning here
We didn’t want stay any longer for dessert so went to Louie Fitzgeralds hotel and had lovely desserts and brilliant and professional service

Main courses arrived quickly - haddock and chips for two and a veggie burger.
Veggie burger wasn’t great, bun was stodgy. Fish and chips were nice, but what’s with the teeny pots of puréed peas?
Two desserts arrived together, I was still waiting 10 minutes later. Chased, and another 5 minutes went by. Said to cancel and then it arrived, sent it back.
No tip for the poor service.

Plucks is well situated as the only pub in the little village of Kilmacanogue, on the way to Glendalough. The food is average to good. Somehow the atmosphere can be less than welcoming, and others have reported the same. I see that it is now up for sale and perhaps there will be a renaissance.

Food very good but the service was very slow, some of the company were left waiting for their food while the rest of the company were finished eating, the place wasn't packed so no excuse for slow service,

Arrived before 8pm
Ordered our food
Wow
Ten mins later the food arrives?
Thought this unusual for a fish and chip and burger and chip
The fish and chips were overly greasy and the burger was actually cold!
Sent the burger back and five mins later a fresh hot obviously microwaved burger arrived
The waiting staff were apologetic and I also informed the bar man who cleaned off the table and asked was everything OK that this was a terrible experience
I paid him and commented on no discount or apology to which he replied he wasn't aware
So not his problem
As I was walking away he looked at some locals sitting at the bar and threw his eyes up in the air as if I were crazy because I complained
Iv eaten here regularly but I will never again
Last orders on Sunday is eight o clock I made a big mistake as this was a rush job by the kitchen staff and lack of concern by the barman with bad attitude
I never realized this pub is using the commercial attitude as in we don't care if we don't see you again
Good food business thrives on presentation and non commercial attitude
I'm disgusted at this treatment and the behavior of the bar man
